Crazy. What’s that do to their cap? Anyone know
According to Spotrac, the Giants will take on $47.1 million in dead money this year and $22.2 million in 2025. By releasing Jones, the Giants free up $19.4 million in cap space next year as his cap hit will drop from $41.61 million to $22.21 million.

Was an absolute dumb deal by the front office.

Played for a dumpster fire organization when it comes to the offense. Offense line was a turntable, no weapons on the outside most of his career, lack of run game even with Barkley thanks to that OL. Spent most of his time running for his life.

Now don't get me wrong he's no ground breaking quarterback or anywhere near it but he never had the opportunity to play in a competent offense. IMO he's probably a low mid to low tier starting QB given a decent team.

CowboysZone DIEHARD Fan
And I think he's better than Rush and Lance
He is and wouldn’t be a bad choice for QB2 for vet minimum that is. It would save a draft pick in 2025 that can be used elsewhere. But, I don’t want him playing this season because he might get a couple of non-needed wins.

He’s not coming to Dallas though…..

The Giants have a bunch of holes and now they’re going to have to use another high pick on a QB. Glad we’re not in their shoes. We may have a lot of holes but at least we won’t have to force a pick on a QB. It’s been a tough go for them ever since Eli retired. According to this fan base Eli sucked.

I know, which is a shame. It'd be the funniest thing ever to sign him for cheap and have him play against his old team on Thanksgiving. Plus, if he goes elsewhere after the season, we get a comp pick. So, we GAIN a pick.

Once he clears waivers he can be signed for the league minimum. If more than one team has an interest he’ll sign for a little more. Carson Wentz is paid $3.5 million this season as QB2 for Kansas City. D. Jones likely has a similar future.
