So the game where we had 14 penalties was the 23-17 playoff game.
The 19-12 playoff game we had 7 penalties.
And keep in mind not all of those 14 were on offense, not sure why Dak has to overcome 14 penalties on offense.
Yes team sport but there is no defending Dak on these 2 games. He didn't do enough to win for his experience, salary, etc, he let the team down.
I love TB but I say the same thing in their losses to NYG. They had to do more on offense, especially that 2007 season where they had the #1 offense. The loss in the SB sits on Tom's shoulders first.
Dak is not exonerated for the second 49er playoff loss, but 14 penalties in the first one?
Do you realize how many times in that game we made a nice play for a first down but it gets called back for holding or illegal formation? Now you're behind the chains at 2nd and 20 or 3rd and 15. Do you realize an offense cannot get into a rhythm that way?
No the offense didn't commit all of those 14 penalties, but when you're playing against THE NUMBER ONE DEFENSE, how much room for error do you think an offense has?
Let's slide over to the defensive side of the penalties....
If it's 3rd and 7 to go for the 49ers and we get pass interference, hands to the face, offsides, and illegal contact penalties, when will the offense get back on the field again to try to get in rhythm vs a NUMBER ONE DEFENSE?
I blame that loss on the whole team AND coaching staff, but if you let most people around here tell the story, we somehow loss the game solely because of Dak. They mysteriously leave out the part about the most penalties committed in a playoff game. (I wonder why)
Here's the one question NONE of them has answered because they are afraid it won't line up with their narratives. The question is....
If no quarterback in NFL history, elite or non-elite has ever led their football team to a playoff victory vs a team fielding a NUMBER ONE DEFENSE after their own team committed a league high 14 penalties in a playoff game, why was Dak expected to be the first in NFL history to do it?
In 100 years of football, the greatest HOF quarterbacks to have ever lived never done it.... so how would a non-elite quarterback like Dak be expected to pull that off?
Again..... its strange how his biggest detractors avoid that question like a wasp nest.
