Brandon Weeden could hit stationary targets with pin-point accuracy. So what.

Reply of the thread, not even interested in reading the remaining 23 pages. I have my own doubts about Dak's future, and I'm not impressed by his ball placement, but this video is not something I'd use to bolster my argument. Non-game passing accuracy is completely uninteresting to me. Like you said, Weeden is a world class passer and an absolutely awful QB.

It was indeed an awesome response... But not so much for the teary nostalgic Center for Romo Research historians.

It’s a fact... interpret it as you will. QB wins is not a real stat, and even if it was a real stat it would be about as stupid as they come since QBs have “won” games being completely horrible. Since it is a phony stat, I have no issue awarding one to every QB on the roster, the QB coach and the team trainer too.

So you argued against somebody’s “phony stat”.

By using a worthless fact.

That was David Carr, omg, I thought it was Derrick this whole time. In that cases it is understandable David has tons more experience than Dak.

More stretching. Plasticman would be proud.
It’s convenient for someone as wrong as often as you are to call it stretching. The only stretching I do is usually struggling to find small enough words to explain the corrections. Enjoy being wrong (again).

Why do you keep saying 400 yards? Where are you pulling that from?

Actually I said close to 400 yards.. 356 yards passing with Joseph Randell as our starting RB and Pollack taking over as OL coach with garbage blocking the first few games. And two straight drives in the 4th quarter without a single run solely off his arm ending in 2 TDs

The second game he passes for 250 yards in the win.

Hardly ‘sucked’..

Basically Dak was Cassell and Weeden that season in the conditions Romo was throwing for 356 yards..

Completely agree. I have doubts about Dak as well but videos like this mean crap.

As a kid, I had the privilege of getting to know Roger Staubach. I remember him being the ultimate competitor. When he came to the Cowboys, he was not the best pure passer on the team, Craig Morton was. It took him a while to become a better (not great) passer but he was known more for his scrambling and athleticism. He grew as an complete QB over time, and please keep in mind (for those who do not know), he was 28 when he became the starter after serving time in the Navy so he was mature.

The one thing I can say about Dak is he does all the right things and has the right traits/talent it takes to be great. Will he be? Only time will tell.

And yet wins are all that matter. And how's the win column compare?
