Day 1 FA-Commanders upgraded, where 49ers have dismantled

Eagles had the luxury of letting Slay go. Their two draft picks from last year were really good for them and they likely won't feel the loss of Slay all that much.

The fact you guys keep preaching patience in FA is pretty funny. Cowboys aren't going to do anything that is different than last year or the year before that or the year before that. They are going cheap in FA and likely downgrading at certain spots. They won't find a CB in FA as good as Lewis in what they want to spend. They seem resigned to Dowdle being too much for them, hence the cheaper but worse RB from Denver. They'll find some lame JAG to replace Golston.

And then tell us all their holes will get fixed in the draft. Same plan as before. Same results in 2025. This is a franchise going down. Not up.
Jerry is not nervous or unprepared.

For the Cowboy perspective, losing Lewis hurt, but the rest are depth type pieces that are very replaceable. Fa just has begun, they are going to sign more players.

Couple thoughts about the rest of the conference:

-Washington certainly have gotten better with the additions of Deebo, Tunsil.
-49ers have blown up their roster as they finally have to pay their QB.
-Seahawks have done the same and are going into a big retooling of their roster
-Detroit lost their starting corner and found a marginal upgrade in Reed.
-Eagles lost a few good pieces on their defense, including two key starters
-Vikings will be hurt by the loss of Darnold.
-Chicago is having a very quiet, excellent offseason.
-Will the Rams be much better replacing Kupp with Adams?
Sometimes these things are a smokescreen ,

you look at it different than I do,

but Washington looks better on paper but Larry tunsil didn't have his best season last year, he gave up more pressures, sacks ,than he has in recent years there's a reason they're willing to let go of the left tackle on a team that had all kinds of problems on the offensive line.. let that sink in a little bit. these guys are allowed to walk maybe they aren't as good as they used to be and by the way Deebo's been on a steady drop off a Cliff the last three years, he's not that good and by the way you missed one they added a defensive tackle but guess what he looks like about the same price and the same talent as Allen, they lost Allen they're plugging holes and it's just all paper..

you all think Samuels is somehow a weapon and that they got better adding him, I say you're wrong,

but hey we'll both have a chance to see who's correct once we see how they play but Tolbert had better numbers than Samuels had last year, in the last three years he stole money from San Francisco the man has been on a steady decline since 2021, I believe that's the year he got paid ,he's just been average ,he's been a Jag, you remember that word being thrown around here? do you really think San Francisco would have let him go that cheap if he had anything real left to offer...

I'm surprised that some of y'all who looked very In Sync with what sports is about how teams are built and what free agency and the process on how it works.

after day one making all these judgments but not really looking at the reality of some of these players, they are not all the same player as they were when they built their name, they've been living on fumes, and now when another team adds them it looks like they got better, but it's really just a name..

it's just something on paper because all I seen is teams losing about the same amount of players, they had right now they're just moving pieces I don't see where they got better at all until it gets proven on the field, I've seen paper champions in the offseason before and it it didn't work the free agents didn't work...

Day one of free agencies a slippery slope most teams are overpaying because they're being targeted by more than one team it's day one and everyone's worried so they're all going after the same people and it's costing them more money.

You're right San Francisco looks like they're in rebuild mode, like I don't understand that now they're saying that they pay their quarterback they can't keep any of their core team. Ironic huh?

I mean they've lost about 25% of their team from last year already but I'm betting they're not panicking because they have five months to get the roster set up before game one, just the same as the Cowboys and everyone else day one doesn't mean a whole lot ,there's a lot of good free agents at every position still left probably about 10 players per position still out there, and more to come because.. I know a lot of players are going to be released in the coming weeks and especially after the draft.... be a lot of good players still there. trades will be made.

And I get it nobody trusts the front office, and I understand ,

but I am not going to prejudge this team by just looking at the background they chose to paint the picture but have yet to start actually creating the full picture on the finished product that would be really ignorant of me to judge A-Team by the color they chose for the background of a painting they haven't started actually putting their vision on the canvas. actually putting their vision on the canvas

that is what becomes a problem around here it's social media everyone's judging a team of day one and they're looking at what everyone else is doing but they're really not seeing it clearly i do those names you mentioned up there for Washington don't impress me. I realize they look good on paper but what I saw last year from those players not that impressive.

For me, I have a full wide open perspective for every one of these teams signing a player they came from somewhere there are other teams that are getting worse, and some teams may look like they're getting better in the end ,it's almost a wash, some of the better teams from last year are not going to be as good and some of the bad teams are going to be better..

so, you're still competing I guess about the same competition... And I'm watching teams do a lot of this work yesterday some of them like the giants have no quarterback Pittsburgh Steelers have no quarterback and some of them picked up quarterbacks that have not been very good elsewhere and they're going to be a big question mark.

so again, it was 24 hours, and we have 5 months left. I'll save my judgment until the picture is actually fully painted...

Tunsil’s ranking among left tackles in terms of QB pressures given up over the last 3 seasons (min 75 snaps):

2024: #2 of 56 (2.9%)
2023: #4 of 54 (3.9%)
2022: #2 of 51 (2.6%)

Last season, Tunsil had the 4th highest overall pass blocking grade among left tackles.

If that’s a down season for him…jeebus lol.

His biggest flaw last season was penalties—I think he ranked last among LTs.

When people say, "But free agency just started " that's true.

But free agency really started with the agents and owners weeks before the official start of it.

The best players are gone before it starts and 3 days into it either leaves lower level players or good players seeking elite money.....guess which ones we gettin?

Bears were serious. Especially on the defensive side. Now we’ll see how many of those moves bite them in the ___!

This you’re home now with es gone? I feel homeless too. Check the Reddit occasionally but it’s not the same.

Also hoping Tunsil can work on the penalties thought probably unlikely at his age. Maybe Miami offense was overly complicated with all the motions and what not that caused him to jump offsides more than normal. Regardless he should lock down that side, need to get a guard to replace cosmi probably for a good chunk of the season.

It was 24 hours and the Commanders have five months left to improve their roster. So do the Rams, the Lions, the Vikings…

Bobby Belt said the Cowboys were in disbelief on how much money Lewis got from Jacksonville. Said they never expected to lose him in free agency. Are the Joneses really that clueless.
they are clueless lol, and also cheap.
Even fish says they are not up to date with the worth of current positions.
They thought they would get lewis for 3-5 mil, so they were only off by 5-7 million!

Someone should lose their job for that miscalculation. Seriously.

Seattle at least showed some discipline at the QB position. Sadly, Jerry is too old to learn new tricks.

Washington may be better today, but they gave up a lot of draft capital in the process.

Difficult to see Dallas rising above #3 in the division. It would be funny to see them finish last (although I could never root against Dallas).
