Anyone else as stoked as I am for NASCAR to begin?

The sport is a close second to the Dallas Cowboys for me. I go to couple of races a year (not this year of course), no small matter living in Hawaii.

Just wondering if anyone else out there gives a hoot.................

Yep. What I love is these guys that talk crap about cars going in circles or only turning left. Well drive 200 miles an hour 3 inches from cars on both sides and turn left, then get back to us about how that's no big deal.

I have always been a racing fan since I was a young kid going to the local dirt track with my father. So yeah I ready for it also. I even setup a NASCAR fantasy league. :D

I'll go a step further...............

Put on all your thickest winter gear. It's July. Turn the heat up to the max. Go to your closest cul-de-sac and drive around as fast as you can and keep the car on the road. Then, throw in another 42 cars doing the same thing and giving you hell for hours.....................

Then, whenever you need new tires or gas, try and pull it off if 12.0 seconds. All this going on, and you got 5 people at LEAST shoveling their opinion and directions at you over the radio.....................

Not lost on all this, is that you got someone paying for your ride, your sponser, watching your every move to see if you're allowed to drive next week....................

Yeah, it's just "driving around in circles" alright......................

but it is a lot of people don't care to see cars driving in a circle 500 times no matter how fast they go. most people watch it for the crashes anyways.

And there it is the big wreck and it was caused by Jr but as usual he's not being blamed for it.

Edit: Reluctantly they are blaming Jr.

Any other driver they'd be all over him.

Not a JR fan by an means but if that would of been Bush, Johnson or Gordon they would be getting a whole lot less blame the JR is right now.

What was he supposed to do? He gets a nose under Vickers. Vickers then runs him below the yellow line. That gives Jr three options. A - stay down there and pass the #83 which would have been a penalty. B - get off the gas and get hit from behind which would have started a wreck. C - try to blend back in line and hope he doesn't hit anyone. He chose C and unfortunately clipped the #83 just barely which is enough at a Plate track. No, if you are looking for blame, it goes 50-50 to NASCAR and Vickers. NASCAR for saying you will be penalized for going below the line even if you are forced to do so by another car and Vickers for running the #88 down there when he knows it will probaly cause just what happened.

He got penalized for turning into Wallace in the middle the track plus he has a history of wrecking people intentionally, particularly at Daytona. FYI

Not hit him and take out cars that are contending and not a lap down. He had plenty of room to blend back in. If he cracks the throttle just a split second all those cars are still in the race.

I disagree. Waltrip goes out of his way to not blame Jr for anything.

First, if he cracks the throttle, even just a little, he will get hit if it's on a Plate track. If you have been a NASCAR fan, you know that's the truth even if you are not a fan of the #88. Second, Jr had a nose under the #83. Vickers CHOSE of his own valition to force the #88 below the line.

It doesn't matter because Jr will never get a penalty for something like that anyway.

He didn't have anyone behind him. If he cracks it yes he loses position but all those cars are still in the race.

Yes Vickers chose to force him down but it was a legal move unlike Jr turning him in front of the whole field.

Now you are starting to sound like a whacko fan. You know the ones that are convinced the announces show favoritism to drivers they dislike.

That's just it. Everyone is blaming JR for coming back up into Vickers a lap down but what about Vickers attempting to block in the same position when JR was clearly more then a nose under him.

So Jr is free of blame as usual?
