It doesn't matter because Jr will never get a penalty for something like that anyway.

He didn't have anyone behind him. If he cracks it yes he loses position but all those cars are still in the race.
If Vickers doesn't run the #88 below the line, all those cars are still in the race. Also, an FYI. NASCAR didn't penalize Vickers for wrecking Jr (then in the #8) and Johnson a few years ago at Talladega in a very similar fashion. ie making a move when he wasn't completely clear of the car in front of him. Why? Beacuse it wasn't intentional. Just like today. It's easy to sit in you living room and point blame at guys who are moving at 180+ MPH while also being only inches apart and having less than a second to make decisions. It's unfortunate what happened but that's just Plate racing.

So Jr is free of blame as usual?

So it's all on JR as usual? It does not have to been one extreme or the other but that was hardly ALL JR's fault.

No I'm not saying it was all on Jr but it was a legal move by Vickers. They were racing for position should Vickers just let him go?

Show favoritism to drivers that the fan really dislikes. You know, fans that hate Kyle Busch are convinced the announcers love him. Ditto that for fans who dislike Dale Jr or Gordon or Johnson or Stewart, etc.

Yes, you have to let an Earnhardt go by, it's in the rulebook.

Now I see what your saying. You just described 98% of Cowboys fans to a T.

Oh yeah I forgot about that rule. Anything an Earnhardt does is legal. :D

I am a Dale Jr. fan.....He is being stupid again. He missed his pit....in fact he does stupid things like this every race and that is why he either doesnt win or gets into accidents. it is also why he doesnt get championships.

I think the wreck was the fault of both guys. I think Vickers and E should have been a bit smarter out there. Unfortunately they werent and a lot of innocent cars got knocked out.

On a positive note, Kyle Busch got knocked out.......he used to cause so many accidents and get away unaffected, and now he got knocked out and he whines like a little girl. It couldnt happen to a bigger chump.

I became a Busch fan last year when he had the balls to take out Jr. :laugh1:

But I agree he, like all of the drivers, whine when something happens. :laugh1:

this was a garbage race......what a horribly pathetic Daytona 500.....calling the race with 25% left to be run....

hey lets stop the SB after the 3rd quarter......

lets stop the WS after 3 games.

lets stop the NBA Finals after 3 games.

GARBAGE.....

Hey NASCAR, start the flippin race a 1:00 pm, instead of 2:30 or 3:00 and maybe we can get the whole thing in...or even if there is a rain delay, there is plenty of time to let the rain pass and still finish the race. Way to drop the ball on the so called biggest race of the year. Way to cheat all of those fans who spent all that money to go to Daytona for the race. Way to cheat all of us who set aside this Sunday to watch the race.

GARBAGE

I give NASCAR a double Stone Cold salute.

They tried that at one of the Nationwide road races last year and all hell broke loose. It's not just the tires. The drivers wouldn't be able to see because they don't have windshield wipers.

Yea, they're all basically the same, if I wreck you it's just racing, if you wreck me you need to learn to drive. It's called the "Dale Earnhardt school of racing".

This was nothing like the Brickyard 400 last year. That was the biggest joke I have ever seen.

I agree that they need to get rid of some of the pre race stuff and start the race on time.

Dont insult Dale Sr. He never cried or acted like a putz when he got taken out.....it was just part of racing. Instead, he would just look for you the next week and try to even the score.

Busch and Stewart have always been overly aggressive, have taken way too many chances, and wrecked a lot of innocent cars....and then shrugged their shoulders and called it racing.....but when either of them ever got taken out, they would whine and cry and throw a tantrem. Those two are the absolute worst with this double standard.....

Stewart has tamed a bit, but Busch is still a punk.

You just can't do that. NASCAR tried that at the road course in Canada last season for a Busch race. The drivers just couldn't handle the cars and that's when the average speed is WELL under 100 MPH. It would be a disaster to try that on a high speed track. What they should do is either wait out the rain (Daytona does have lights so that wouldn't be a problem) or finsih on Monday. There is NO WAY the premeir event of the sport should EVER be called before the finsih. That's what happens when you have someone who isn't a leader (Brian France) leading the sport.
