For all we know the valet may have seen the gun in his car when he was parking it and after an argument made an unjust claim. I don't know one way or the other. If there is any reason to give a benefit of the doubt it would be based on past behavior on Anderson part, as far as I know he has never had any past history of this kind of behavior. So let this play out and hopefully the truth comes out for good or bad.

Yet another good, reasonable post. And here I was thinkin my fellow board men were losing it.

You don't cut players for being charged with misdemeanors.

The police almost always charge high and then the charges get lowered. For them to start at a misdemeanor here means this was fairly harmless incident that had zero threat or violence.

Plenty of people have been mad when a valet brought back a dinged up car or saw had something missing from the car.

Cricket may end up gone and obviously he will eventually but this is a time for tapped breaks.

I remember last off-season seeing Spencer get in trouble for fighting with a bouncer.... How many people want him cut now?

If we find a better player than Cricket for his dual role of lead blocker and special teamer then by all means he can be cut.

Thing is we don't know anything other than what the initial reports which already have changed thus the clarification was given. If Anderson had a past history of this type of act it would be much harder to give him the benefit of the doubt.

As for Anderson future with the Cowboys I think he is a fringe player who if the Cowboys are looking to upgrade could find himself gone not because of this incident but because we find a better player

Had several off-the-field issues that eventually led to his dismissal in 2005. He was charged with exposing himself in public, had a dorm incident with a girl, another dorm issue where he was kicked out of housing for fighting with another student (stated he was defending a teammate) and was ordered to meet with a psychiatrist and probation officer once a month in 2005.

I'm sure there is more.

Love to see his brother's rap sheet.

Great, you want to replace a gunslinger with a ninja. ;)

Edit: But I wouldn't mind giving him another chance...
I sure do. Ninjas are stealthy.

Who was prepared to pay his bond? The Cowboys or Deon's attorney? It's worded kind of funny.

Deon is prepared to pay Deon's bond. He should have enough money to make the charge go away...or at least most of it:D

As big as cricket is, why was there a reason for even getting his gun?

Was his life threatened by a big, bad valet?

Ummmm....because he's an idiot, maybe?

Well thankfully he didn't point the gun.
That doesn't really matter. If anyone doubts this hold a gun in your hands down at your sides the next time you talk to a Police Officer. It doesn't even have to be loaded. Or even real as long as it looks real.

The threat is implied and if he did anything other than have guns in the car he is an idiot. I like the guy. This is not me with a vendetta against Cricket. I do not condone having loaded weapons in a car. I never condone one in the chamber. I really do not condone using one to imply a threat to the valet or anyone else. If he did ditch it in the bushes then that is three strikes.

He has done a very thorough job of hanging himself out to dry if he is guilty of these things. I hope he isn't and it is being blown out of proportion, but if even one of these allegations is true he is wrong. Hell, unpaid tickets when you make his kind of money is already stupid enough. He didn't need to include weapons charges into the stupidity.

Rest assured, if you see my gun in my hands out of the holster, whether it is pointed at you or not, I mean for you to feel threatened. If my finger is anywhere near the trigger it means I consider you a threat and I will defend myself. I have no issue with anyone else who has the same principles.

I can't imagine ever needing to point my weapon at a valet or have it out of the holster and a round chambered. Whether he is guilty of anything else he is stupid to have that weapon in his car with a round chambered.

If the valet's prints are not on the gun then who else put it in the bushes? Or do valet's wear gloves so no prints?

IMO, it looks bad for Cricket. I hope not. I really hope not.

None of know for sure of course.

One plausible reason might be that he was suspiscious of the valet's behavior and wanted to A. make sure the gun was where he left it and B. Secure it.

Another plausible explanation might be that he could not get the vehicle started and was going to have it towed and needed to secure the weapon.

Both very plausible reasons and in both cases it would be irresponsible to NOT get the gun from the car.

This is more and more sounding like much ado about nothing. Of course it is still to early to tell either way.

I have to admit though. I am more then a little surprised about some of the irrational gun fearing going on. Especially coming from Texas.

I applaud your behavior. But why was the gun in the bushes if he was merely retrieving it? And I would have waited until the tow truck arrived before taking a gun from the car. I think it was poor judgment to pull a weapon for any reason during an altercation.

For some reason, I am surprised you know anything about Sub-Zero. LOL. Maybe cause I just think you are such a historian and wouldn't be concerned with any video games other than Madden or some Atari/Coleco/Odyssey games.

Those are plausible and I could see it...however, none of those reasons would explain why were the guns in the bushes. If Cricket was trying to secure his firearms, it wouldn't be in bushes (which has an appearance of hiding them) with one with a round in the chamber.

It will be interesting to read or listen to what Cricket has to say about the incident.

LOL

I actually have no idea what Sub-Zero is or how I might have referenced it. I have Madden 2001. I think I last played it in about 2005. I have no idea if it works in our new video game system. We have two of those. One I have never played. The other is a Wii. I have tried all of the Wii sports. The only one I have played more than once is bowling and it has been so long since I did I doubt I would even know how to set it up.

So you assumed right the first time.

Oh, is that from the game?

It's one of our emoticons here. Just put colons around the word ninja.

Because of this? I could understand if it was due to finding an upgrade at the position

No doubt.

IMO those wanting him gone over this are fools. If I was a highly paid athlete, I'd carry a weapon as well.
