I agree that the only way to quite criticism is by going out and producing. Right now he is doing what is being asked and working with Romo so that they can be in sync so that when Romo drops back he is comfortable with RW. It is one thing to know a play book and another for a QB to be comfortable with a player.

Romo knew TO and Witten would be at a certain spot at a certain time that is what they work on in mini camps, OTA and training camp this is why you have these workouts because it is hard to get this type of work during a normal week during the season where players and teams are not training but preparing for the upcoming game.

RW is getting this type of work in now and until he shows otherwise he will have to contend with critics who have their doubts.

And if this team starts focusing more on the run and a bit less on the pass then the WR numbers will go down but if the end results is a more balanced offense and winning in bad condition that tend to have a negative effect on the passing game and results in a better team I'll take that trade off.
One thing about the injuries last year at RB is that it really gave Choice an opportunity to step up. We know what we get with Barber, we know what we can get with Jones but now I think Choice gives them a multi-use weapon something like Brian Westbrook. I think he's as effective as a pass catcher as a runner (screens, etc) that Garrett would be a fool to NOT focus this offense around its 3 starting-caliber RBs.

It's exciting and I think taking pressure off Romo/Oline/WRs is a great move. It's not a knock on them, it means that guys can maybe stay a bit healthier as the season progresses.

I think the pressure is on Garrett and his game plan.

He'll be fine IMO.

They can get their timing down now with a full offseason of work together. Having Kitna around should help both players gel on the field too. I have no doubt, that Williams will get his 10 TD's and 1,000 yards just like Owens did. As far as overall production, I'm rooting for a superior running attack and the first ever triple 1,000 yard backfield!

I want teams to DREAD about stopping our running attack, not figuring out Garrett's offense or stopping Romo or holding Williams or Witten on 3rd down etc. I want Romo, Williams, Witten out of the limelight and Barber, Jones, Choice and the OL to take center stage.

I wanna see 40 to 50 runs a game!

I want the pass to be the second option for this team...not a necessity.

I agree. If Roy can stay healthy I think he'll do plenty of damage against teams.

That's a big if, he hasn't been able to be consistently healthy so far in the NFL, and odds are, he won't be in the future. He's thin skinned in part because he knows that people expect him to play at an elite level and so far, he's only only performed that way in one single season.

If a certain someone had adopted your advice, he would have, in my highest opinion, retired as a Dallas Cowboy and that's the God's honest truth. :)

Of course, I had followed the majority of his career and personally had very little doubt that was ever going to actually happen--again, the God's honest truth. :)

Hey. You're right. However, that certain someone is a future HOF WR that has put up stats for years. WTH has RW11 really done?

I've said it before... Roy working with Romo was sensationalized, he wasn't even able to cut or run full speed, remember? Media ran with that just because they saw him around the facility a few days.

He needs to put in the work in the film room so he won't be so confused on the field. Which worries me, apparently our WRs terminology and their route trees are relatively simple - well it looked like rocket science to Roy.

Aikman bashes him because he covers games and saw that he ran poor routes, was slow out of his breaks, and didn't do anything to help the Cowboys last year. Roy rounded off his routes and rarely looked like he knew what he was doing. Aikman's opinion is exactly right though, their is no seat hotter than Roy Williams. And Roy has said all the wrong things so far here in Dallas. He made just as many excuses and got just as insecure as the rest of our guys when the media came knocking on their locker.

Irvin bashes him because he's the reason Owens is gone, diva or not - at 37 he was much more productive and demanded much more attention than 27 year old Roy did/does/will. Irvin loves Owens, he's just standing up for his guy - and calling out the guy that took his place.

Emmitt is just keeping up with the Jones's. Hardly anything he ever says makes much sense, but he's exactly right about explosiveness. Owens added a dynamic, and demanded safety coverage - even at 37 he opene things up for the rest of our team. Can Roy Williams do the same? Because last year I couldn't see him get by one on one coverage against a team's 2nd best corner.

So keep being hopelessly hopeful, I'd rather have those picks and the cash back. Ya'll keep believing he's something he's not.

:muttley: :hammer:

Just shut up Roy and go produce.

My only interest is winning. That 'go pull for the Bills' nonsense is weak. I've loved the Cowboys since I was crapping yellow, and will until I need someone to help me crap. Pardon me for just happening to like Owens' production, durability, and his work ethic. I don't like Roy's production, durability, or his work ethic.

I'm not like your stereotypical pro-Owens poster on this board, I actually have a brain.

You keep posting and all I will need to do is highlight the bold area and hammer that sucker home. That stuff is real weak sauce.

I guess you completely forgot what you asked in this post. So I'll post it for you again and highlight your question to make it easier for you to follow your own argument.

I say that because when answered with what Roy Williams "has done" (with far lesser QBs) you try to deflect the attention away from what you asked, because it does compare with that certain "future HOF WR."

That may work with fools, but I'm no fool.

It will be good because I don't recall TO running his trap with a woe is me attitude after 5 seasons. Highlight that for me if you can find it.

Shut up Roy and just go produce.
There is no comparison as to which of the two should shut up, but damned your hypocritical soul, you could never bring yourself to say that about Owens.

Color me shocked that you would stoop to this kind of cheap theatrics and drama. [/sarcasm]

You really can't be serious Hos... RW11 has done zilch, nada, negative in a Boys uni & he has the nerve to say "Why is everyone on my jock"? I'm not going to get long in the tooth with you. I gave that mess up on this board long ago. I will say.. the day RW11 starts producing on the field will be the day I provide 100% support to him. Right now he has a huge mountain of worth to prove. (IMO)

Call me a hypocrite if you would like (that goes to all out there that hated on Owens and still do) but I threw my support behind a proven WR that will be in the HOF someday. RW11 is nowhere close. Shut up and rack it up Mr RW11.

My skin is much thicker than that of RW11 so I'm good regardless. ;)

We don't really need the YAc as much as we just need the yaC, and RW11 has proven he's a bit more than just a possession receiver in this league. What is all the fuss?

We couldn't win tough games and playoff games with a pass happy offense because the O-line would give out and Romo started making mistakes with the constant pressure. Not to mention time of possession (Or the lack thereof) that wore down our defense.

We just gotta move the chains and take our time. Frankly I'm glad TO is gone for that simple reason. Let me reiterate that; sometimes we just scored to quickly and didn't give the D a chance to rest, and sometimes it was 1-2-3-punt because good teams were keying on the deep ball and the intermediate stuff.

Feel free to misquote me now..:laugh2:
