Oh, and regarding the mirror. If he "punched" it he'd have stitches. A mirror got broken, but they can break without being punched. Also, we don't know who broke it in the scuffle. It might have been the bodyguard. As long as he pays for it, who cares?
Is someone worried about 7 years bad luck or something? He wasn't standing under a ladder with a black cat so he's safe.
Essentially I'd agree with you if this was a player who didn't have a history of screwing up, even in minor ways.
The thing that could potentially make this worse for Jones is that he is always going to have his history follow him, while he's in the league, in regards to things like this.
Arguments, and broken property (Even just a mirror), are not really a huge deal when it's the average NFL player. But when you're a guy whose been in trouble, multiple times, and just coming off a year long suspension things are very different. You have to avoid these situations at all costs, no matter how unfair that might seem to Cowboys fans.
