If Chad is released from the Jets and if Romo and Henson are not the answer . Sign Him to a incentive based 3 year contract. Let him sit this year out so he can get healthy. When Bledsoe retires wala! We have our QB of the future. By then The O-Line should be in Order.

Dear BP and JJ, save your money and DON'T sign Pennington. He'll be lucky to play again. Save your money for a K, LB, FS, and OL.
Use another season and offseason to see if Henson or Romo pan out, if not, make a move and draft Brady Quinn next year.

I dunno...I've never been crazy about him...

He had that very good year in 2002 when Hackett game planned well for him with a short passing game...but after that, he never performed well against good defenses.

And his arm strength is abysmal even before the two injuries. And he's fragile.

I hear where you're coming from regarding an incentive laden contract so if the risk is minimal, why not give it a shot...I just don't think he can be the answer.

I'd be okay with the incentive-laden contract, but I suspect if the Jets do get rid of him, someone (hopefully not us) will pay him more than vet minimum. He WAS a decent QB. The question is whether he IS a decent QB. I have my doubts.

I was one of the biggest Pennington homers going as he played at Marshall, very heady player and I love his leadership and attitude.

However with his injury problem he would be a huge risk to ever be a starter you could rely on.

So I pass.

I've been one of the biggest Pennington detractors. :D

I agree about his intanglible skills...but he's shown a noodle arm...and I'm sure it's even worse now.

Pennington is coming off a second operation on his throwing shoulder. Two in two years to be exact......You would be paying alot of money to see how he responds to the surgery. Too big a gamble for me......esp w/a QB whose arm strength was suspect to begin with.;)

short passing WCO type QB. Which we do not do. So why in the world would anyone with a brain want him here? And he had a BARELY adequate arm BEFORE.

You can disagree without making it personal.

This has been said ad nauseum, but I want to see if Henson has any shot at developing (or Romo) before I take another shot on a QB. All of this seems part of a 'rush to judgement' on these guys if you ask me (which you didn't :p: ).

If we are in position to draft Brady Quinn, Parcells will be gone.

Parcells has only ever drafted 2 quarterbacks in the first round, you can bet the thought has crossed his mind if he thinks his injuries aren't severe enough to worry about. His original assessment was that this guy could lead the Jets into the next era, Bill might just be curious if for nothing else to what went wrong. Or in better "Bill Fashion" show how everyone else messed up with him and correct it infront of a national audience.

If anything, I wouldn't mind him as a longterm backup answer if the guy just can't start in this league anymore. Smarts like that are exactly what you want coming out off the bench. A guy that could just simply come in and manage the rest of the game, ala Jason Garrett. Cause lets face it we're screwed if we ever need to depend on one of our two guys who are sitting on the bench now. Let alone either of them being viable future starting options.

Why waste our time or money.

1. He is a west coast QB due to lack of arm strength. We dont run a WC offense, nor would I want us to.

2. His arm is ready to fall off, literaly. Why would you want a QB with 1 arm, especially when he has never thrown with the one he has left. Now if we can due some kind of Bionic Man thing then I might be with you.

3. He seems to be kinda girly. You know what I mean, you hit him and he goes down and stays down. He just does not seem to be physically built to play QB in the NFL.

4. Have you seen this guy dance?

JUST SAY NO to Pennington.

Just say no to Pennington for all the reasons mentioned. If he is as smart as some say he sounds like he'd make a good qb coach.

I don't see it.

That means Pennington will be a Cowboy on opening day! LOL!
