I respect Hos and love his posts but his entire post is reiterating how much ROy WIlliams loves Dallas and my repsonse to that is so what???
Roy Williams is not a free agent and therefore where he would like to play is completely meaningless. He has no say so whatsoever where Detroit would ship him too.
The other problem I have with this is if Detroit wanted to move him why not field offers like the Eagles are doing for Shepherd??? Get 6 or 7 offers in, weigh them, and then make the best move for your team. Why would they settle for the 28th pick in the draft when I am pretty sure the Eagles would give #19 to them, for example..
Jax, you don't understand one aspect fundamental to this situation, that being this is the last year of Roy's contract... so unless Roy is willing to sign a contract extension with any team he's traded to, trading for him would amount to a one year rental... do you think any team's gonna give up much for one year of his services??
So you're quite wrong to say that Roy has no say in this situation, in fact he holds just about all the cards...
Now, if the Iggles can convince Roy that he's better off in Philly, that would be one thing... but Hos's point is valid, Roy really wants to come back to Texas to play (in large part, because that's where his daughter is, and he wants to be closer to her)... so if he really wants to come home to Texas as badly as Hos says, and other mainstream sources have suggested, then the Boys or the Texans are the only two teams who would realistically have a possibility of getting him to agree to a contract extension in the event of a trade...
