Defensively Dallas belongs in the Super Bowl, but the offense is suspect

With the down pour rain. Not one fumble or interception. I'd actually give the offense a good grade today. I think this offense realizes they just need to not make mistakes and the Cowboys will win a lot of games.
Yes, it was tough conditions and we still moved the ball quite well ... especially when you consider how the other offense played in those same conditions. The TEs dropped three passes that were on the money, and I'm not sure we'll see that happen very often. There are a few things to clean up, but overall, it was a good offensive effort in support of a great defensive effort and good ST showing.

I understand it's the first game and DAL is implementing a new offense with absolutely no practice against an opponent. They better gel this week because a better defense will be here come Sunday.
Giants defense is pretty good, though, at least up front. Their corners are young and that showed at times. Probably will get better with experience.

The Jets have one of the NFL's top defenses, like we do, so it should be a pretty good defensive showdown. I wouldn't expect a real high-scoring game, but it will be interesting to see how our offense performs. One of the things that's been disappointing about the Garrett scheme that we were is how it seemed to fail against top defenses (with a few exceptions). I want to see if McCarthy can do better with his.

Young season, new system, new playcaller, they will improve.

Right now I'd like a bit better play from the TEs and a bit more power at the RB position, give Schoonmaker and Leupke some plays, lets see what the rooks can do. Also get Tolbert more involved.

Oline health will be key, crossing fingers.

Great opening night compared to last couple of years though.

40-0 is unreal the very first game on the road in the NFL. With that said, the entire NFL will fear this defense.

The offense, on the other hand, looked suspect and out of sync. Dak had that deer in the headlights look. He was ridiculously over throwing his receivers.

Your thoughts?
Only part of O that is sus is the TE’s group. One. One of ‘em needs to step up and be the guy.

This defense is SB ready. They are gang tackling, hitting hard, swarming, fast, you name it.

On the first drive Jones was gashing us with some QB runs. That got adjusted to very quickly and those plays became disasters for the Giants.
I would seriously wait until half way through the season before we anoint any part of this team. I've seen years where the offense started out hot and vice versa. I hate going this route, but I've seen it far too often.

True and will be the reason once again that Doomsday's efforts will be wasted.............

Jets and Niners games will tell us if anything has changed for the better.

It was pouring. Did you notice Cooper Rush's 1 pass attempt?

I'm just glad we didn't turn the ball over. Dak had a sure TD dropped by Hendershot and another drop that would've set up 1st and goal.

Dak didn't have any "near INTs" either, and the redzone O and 3rd down O were very good.

We'll be just fine.

We saw about 20% of what this offense will be.

We had a 16 to 0 lead after the first quarter.

All I saw from tonight's game, on offense, is that our Oline is fine, Cooks will be dominant, Pollard can do the dirty work, the offense will have faster reads and Turpin will be much more involved.

Let's see how many ridiculous threads are going to be created, criticizing the offense who played clean and smart football with no turnovers, in heavy rain conditions most of the game.

So far: 5

Seriously, what more do you guys want?

I think this post is desperation attempt to try and diminish Dak after a dominant win and it’s why I can’t take haters seriously.

By my count there were 5 drops, 3 by TE’s, or 4 drops depending on how you count forgetting to get the feet in as it’s the same result, and I am not even going to be that harsh on the TEs because it was a bloody monsoon out there. Nobody could grip the ball. Therefore the drops which were by far the biggest problem on offense get a temporary pass.
Yep, ignore the lunatic fringe extremists (on both sides). The offense did what was needed in testing conditions, all you can do is play the opposition (and the conditions).
I happy that for once we've parked the Dak debate (probably for another day) and concentrated on a great team win.

Defense and special teams had this game won in the 1st quarter. You simply cant tell from the game how good or bad our offense is - it was essentially another preseason game for them.

Trust me, I won't hesitate to call him out if/when he **** the bed but he didn't do anything wrong tonight. He didn't turn the ball over and his receivers dropped the ball a lot because the weather was horrible. He didn't hurt us in any way, no need to crap on him after a 40-0 win.

Bingo. I’ll critique Dak(and the whole offense) when/if he has a bad game but tonight was not a bad game. He played well. He didn’t turn the ball over and didn’t cause any momentum shift. That was his role this game. His role was to keep momentum and let the defense feast. There’ll be games that Dak will need to do more but tonight be played perfect complimentary football.

Need five games to evaluate the offense. I'd give it a solid C with the conditions.
There are no words for Quinns defense other than speed kills, speed combined with strength and depth could be the 85 bears.
Aaron Rogers just wet himself.

As long as the offense doesn't turn the ball over and is able to score 14 to 20 points a game we are golden.

LOL! The offense did exactly what it should have done with the defense playing the way it did. Just take what's there, move the ball and don't take any chances that might give the opponent life. Dak hit Hendershot in the chest at the goal line and Ferguson in the facemask in the end zone. Yeah.. ridiculously overthrowing. You're hilarious.
