Defensively Dallas belongs in the Super Bowl, but the offense is suspect

After 1 game it is way to early to say that about either side of the ball.

it was a deluge. We can't gage Dak based off that. Next weeks game, yes. This is the litmus test. If we let the Jets come in here and beat us, the Dak questions will rear their ugly heads again. He must understand this.
Really I mean I can I can like roll with half that statement it should not be put on Prescott I've seen Roger and Troy have hundreds of games like this period end of story their stats look like Baker Mayfield but everyone said it didn't matter because it's a team game and only wins matter..

But now here's what I have a problem with really it's a lipid test for Prescott do you know how many times we've lost to Aaron Rodgers because of the defense or because the special teams bobbled the ball or we missed a field goal seriously you're already saying that if we lose the game it's on Prescott before you even see the reasons why?? Are you trying to tell me in the 2016 playoff game against Aaron Rodgers that Prescott didn't play well are you kidding me he thought offense outplayed their offense except for our defense choked.. same thing aaron rodgers last year p....a 14 point lead in the fourth quarter that was on the play calling that was on the defense that was not on prescott. it's his litmus test against the jet....t this straight capital letters TE AM...

this is a team litmus test.....

No it wasn't. Good gawd, the homers here are insane.

The offense was rough, not sure what the weather. McCarthy seems like he knows this team has to win with defense.

Next week will tell a lot more.
IF putting up 27 points is rough.....ya'll didn't watch any games yesterday.

*Keep in mind they lost 2 possessions because of a Special teams and defensive TD. Keep in mind they didn't play starters most of the 4th.

40-0 is unreal the very first game on the road in the NFL. With that said, the entire NFL will fear this defense.

The offense, on the other hand, looked suspect and out of sync. Dak had that deer in the headlights look. He was ridiculously over throwing his receivers.

Your thoughts?
Tight Ends looked awful. That said, it was a road game with heavy rain, so I give them a mulligan.

Apparently he didn't he needed something to whine about but he doesn't understand is I guarantee you go back and you watch a lot of the 90s teams and the 70s teams there were games that looked just like this and I bet the quarterbacks weren't called out for having crappy stats or the offense for not dominating when they didn't need to..

What happened to all those people who said I wish we could have our offense match our defenses energy and not take high risk plays like Kellen Moore did and just go with the flow of the game eat clock call plays that matched the energy of the game flow and that means you're not gonna be out in the rain outdoors in a game where you didn't need a lot of points or a lot of yards and Chuck it all over the yard that's something I've seen Jason Garrett and Kellen Moore do but this was a great game call playing in game adjustments as the game went on they literally started treating this like practice and scrimmage they were calling plays that they wanted to practice they didn't get a chance to do a preseason that's what was going on here maybe some people are clueless I noticed this they started calling plays that they didn't need to call just a practice that play with those package of players they normally wouldn't have probably brought in the game..

For sure now we pick on an offense for not having a big stat day but I thought stats didn't matter and only wins matter. I believe that Kellen Moore would have been calling plays he'd have been throwing the ball all over the field even up by 28 and that's what he does and he would have allowed more clock and he probably would have allowed an interception or a fumble and change the games ending because he likes throwing the football..

Just like Jason Garrett did at a game I was at at AT&T with the Detroit Lions and we were up by I don't know 27 points and they kept throwing the football until three interceptions later in a late field goal and we lose the game leading by over 24 points in the fourth quarter because they threw the ball all over just trying to look pretty..
If the internet existed back then, there would still be the same conversations as now

There are now many many conversations by many many people

Exactly.

The offense would have scored over 30 points last night…. If they wanted to. And that’s during a heavy rain storm.

It's one game.
It was wet.
But Dak completed couple of nice passes.
However, Cowboys completed only 53% of their passes, in an era where 66+% is the standard.
.
But it's just one game, and it was wet.

Outstanding game. Conditions were a little challenging, but it seemed to affect NY much more than Dallas. I know some are sad there aren't a TON of offensive stats, but that's what you get being balanced and running the ball.

I don't have to point out the defense. FFS, they played with the Ginas like a cat and a mouse. Ragdolled them. When they tried getting up, they got knocked down again and again.

Special teams, again the weather sucked, is a touch concerning.

Who doesn't know that since Micah has been here the Defense is the Identity of the Team. . . Everyone knows that especially big Mike

This team is built for the offense not to ***** things up and allow thr Defense to cook. Which is why Mike in His Final season under contract took the reigns of the Offense

There are weapons spread out everywhere and all Dark has to do is spread the ball around and keep the Clock & Chains moving while protecting the Ball

Neither unit we saw tonight is what they will be in every game. Don't overreact to week one.

The defense can only dream of a shutout every week, and the offensive starters didn't play in preseason. They will improve.

Enjoy it, but don't draw conclusions. There are 16 games still to play, and hopefully more.
Agreed. This defense will more than keep the cowboys in every game but Daniel Jones in the rain is not Aaron Rodgers.

Anyone who failed to be impressed by what our offense had to offer in their game one seems a hard one to please. They played a conservative game last night, which was all that was needed to produce 40 points in that offering. I tend to believe we'll see a much more motivated offense vs. the Jets. The short passing game is far more suitable to make the most of what Dak has to offer. His long game has never been his forte. Hence, we are far more likely to see more of the Texas Toast passing game prevalent vs. the Jets. Here's hoping it all goes swimmingly.

Can we just imagine Jason Garrett and Kellen Moore wanting to throw the ball all game no matter the score.. They both seem to like pretty stats and did everything they could no matter the game situation to get it accomplished.. This is exactly what Mike McCarthy meant by not needing the flashiest high scoring number one offense of all time.. We have a dangerous offense trust me when needed when the conditions call for it they will pop their heads out.... However each game and game situations dictate how you call plays and Mike McCarthy called the great game...
