Define your passion, your moment as a true Cowboy!!

I think the Cowboys uniform is a TRUE Classic, and a TIMELESS uniform. It will never go out of style!

I still get the chills, When i see my OLD VHS tape, of Super Bowl XXVII, the 1st down to jay novachek, when the tv guy said "1st down cowboys, and maybe that is the spark"

Yes sir...my whole family is Cowboys fans.

But there were two moments i realized the significance of it. First was when i crawled out of my crib and hid behind a wall watching a monday night game vs. the falcons.

Second, was like 2 years ago. My friend was saying that Kelly, Thomas, Reed of buffalo was a better triple threat than Aikman, Emmit, Irvin. It escalated and i punched him.:starspin

PUnch him again for me.

I was born to a Cowboys fan, and two Cowboys fans have since been born to me. I have taken my boys to watch OUR BOYS a few times each and the hook has been set with both 4-LIFE!!!

Ok guys, I think this would be a good thread!

What was the defining moment you swore loyalty and devotion to the Dallas Cowboys? Were some of you converted from another team? Was it a specific player? Let us hear about it!

For me, it was a funny story.... I was like 4 years old, and I DO remember that my older cousin, Sergio had this NICE AND PRETTY Blue with Silver jacket, with a nice Star on it. That became an obsession, so so bad, that my uncle ended up giving me that jacket. The colors seems right and the star was cool. The rest my friends, is history!

For my 10th birthday my father handed me a football with a big blue star on it. At the time we were residing in Wichita Falls, TX. That was my defining moment.

I'm right there with you... tears and all.

I was a little kid, but I bled blue and silver from that moment on.

Anything that can arouse that much emotion in you has to be something pretty special, doesn't it?

Absolutelly, obviously there are more important things in life, but the Cowboys have always been a part of mine, so sometimes it´s hard for some people, let´s say, just for the sake of argument, my wife, to understand the passion this represents for us and how much it can affect our daily life.

Just this Sunday people were calling to congratrulate me after the game and my wife was like, why are they calling YOU, you didn´t play. And while she may have a point, actually, she does, she will probably never understand.

bb gun...........i love that sig. pic.

absolutely love it.. shows a team coming together around their new leader.

We are cowboys, we decided to cheer for them, hence we need to be congratulated for chossing such a fine team heheh :laugh2::laugh2:

I got you all beat.............
I became a Cowboy fan while being born and raised in Penna., 1965, I was 5 years old and my uncle Bruno simply pointed to the TV and said "we root for THAT team". THAT team of course being US!
I've lived through a time when the Cowboys were labled "the team that couldn't win the big one" due to the two losses to Green Bay PRE-SUPER BOWL CHAMPIONSHIP times, and the loss to Cleveland in the playoffs!
I had Dallas Cowboy jammies with Don Meredeth and Bob Hayes printed on them, and a poster of Lance Rentzel on my wall!! I remember crying and being so sick I didn't want to go to school when Dallas lost to the Colts in the SB! I'll bet half of current Dallas fans have no idea who Craig Morton was, or Walt Garrison, or Chuck Howley or Rayfield Wright.
No, you can't go much further back than my being a Cowboy fan. And being born and raised in Penna., I've paid my share of dues, believe you me! Try living there in H.S. losing to Pittsburgh twice in the SB, and dealing with Eagle and Giant fans everywhere. No Disco!
Anyway, I'm sure you all love the Cowboys as much as I do. I've just been at it longer. I look at these kids born in 1982 and getting on board during the Jimmie Johnson/Aikman/Emmitt/Irvin/Novececk years and claiming life-long loyalty and giggle. They're sincere and it's all they know, but you gotta' go way back to keep up with me.

I know. It practically screams "follow me." It has a watermark, so I shrunk it.

Thanks for your post! I was born in 1977, so i had also my share of bad times :)

Maybe not a defining moment... but a great one nonetheless...

SB30.... the Cowboys didnt cover... I lost $500... and I was still happy as a pig in "stuff"... I didnt care about the money... I just wanted the SB win

Ironically enough I saw Joe on tv a few weeks back talking about his book and "the catch"... I didnt know until that day that it was only 3rd down... they had another shot.... it helped reduce the wound a little

It was 1971, I was 10. A buddy of mine asked me who I was rooting for, the Cowboys or the Jets. Well it was a simple answer in my mind, who wants to be a jet when you can be a Cowboy! The boys thrashed the jets and I was a life long fan. They went on to win their first Superbowl against the fins. My Grandfather was a Bears fan (we live just outside of Chicago) he just didn’t understand. “I wanna be a Cowboy Baby”

I was 9 or 10, the year was 1992, me and pops were watching the Super Bowl, well, it was pops 1st, and I just wandered by and decided to sit down and watch, Cowboys beat the stuffing out of the BIlls, my impressionable mind then said immediately, "that's my team"

tis been that way ever since, through good times and bad

In 1995 Deion Sanders pass interference penalty on Michael Irvin began my lifelong tradition of beer throwing but I would say that it was the early 80s and the Danny White years having my father explain to me the rules of football that got me started.

Those being the only fond memories that I have of that man I look back upon them very well.

When I saw Irvin and the boys knock off the Commanders and ruin their chance at an undefeated season in '91. It was '91 right? I get the years confused back then and don't want to think it through. At that time I was kind of in limbo as far as who I liked in the NFL. I was still pretty young and had been a Raiders fan because of Bo Jackson (I live in KC and was/am a Royals fan Lord help me). He wasn't really a factor with them anymore so I didn't really care about the Raiders much anymore. And I really didn't become a huge NFL fan until after I became a Cowboys fan.

For me it started out by being on the wrong end (at the time) of the battle between the very few Romo-sexuals and the Hensonites.

The hammer was brought down on my Henskunk sig....

Everybody hated me for it, but I persisted with my beliefs.

But as a fan, I take pride in that moment, because, my true passion, my true beliefs and desires for my team have come true.

One-look Willie, Skunkboy, Henskunk, whatever you want to call him ... is long gone.

I suffered a disowning as a result of my support for Romo's "intangibles" over Henson's "pedigree".

But I think we can all learn something as fans from this. Theme anyone?

I hope at this point that we're all believers ... and all passionate fans.

It's a good time to be on the banned wagon. Things are looking up.

For once in a long long time it looks as if this team has...'moxie'. :)

The glimmer in Parcells eye is shining bright.

And the writing on the wall reads clear as day.

Oh! That, and going to the Dallas Cowboys training camp when I was about 13. There was a QB controversy between Steve Buerline and Troy Aikman.

The rest is history....

Long live Darren Woodson.

:starspin

Born in Dallas the second year of their existence......
Had a nice stock of Dallas Cowboy trading cards as a lad. I wish I had kept them! :bang2:

Me pappy took me to a pre-season game in the 60's at the Cotton Bowl and the rest is history. No jumping off and on the bandwagon....
