That pretty much sums up my reaction to this thread. Free will man the left corner well. I can't wait til we move beyond the idle speculation stage and get back to ballin.

Didn't see the video.

the biggest story of last offseason, was roy williams replacing Terrell owens in Dallas as the number 1 wr.

Demarcus ware didnt mention Roy williams in a conversation where he brought up terrell owens, babe laufeberg the interviewer did not.

So did Demarcus Ware not know Roy Williams was on the team? Did he not know the biggest story of the offseason?

Unless you think Owens being replaced by williams wasnt the main talking point in Dallas last year?
or am I just a dumb homer?

Did Ware say we'd better run right out and draft a WR or bring TO right back? And note the tone of it too, please.

They fail to see the point, the whole diss thing is the crutch being leaned on to sustain their part of the argument.

The real issue, as I've said numerous posts above, is the implications of Ware not even mentioning Free when talking about the LT position.

What the hell would Ware know about WR's?

We are talking about a position he faces everyday in practice.
 Ware said Austin or Hurd needed to step up. Austin did. He said nothing about Free. That means he doesn't think Free has it IMO. He had faith in Austin and Hurd.

I think a trade for a 1st and a 3rd and a $9mil contract made it a fact that Roy was replacing Terrell Owens.

I think Ware and anyone watching at the time knew this.

And from there you are now talking about the 3rd WR position where we all knew there was competition going into camp for this job.

So now are we supposed to use your thought process on Ware's comment and determine that the LT job is up for grabs?

OR HAS IT BEEN STATED TIME AND TIME AGAIN PUBLICLY BY JERRY JONES THAT IT'S DOUG FREE'S JOB!!!

You are not listening to me.

He didn't intentionally diss him.

But omitting him from the conversation is a diss.

Or not a vote of confidence.

Or whatever some people want to call it.

The fact is that I, and a lot of other people, would be a hell of a lot more confident in Free taking over for Flo if the guy who has faced these two players for the last three years in practice used one of their names when speaking about who would replace the other guy.

His silence is deafening!

Or he didn't think Roy Williams was good enough to so he didn't mention him.

First, I think diss is the wrong wording for this, I would have taken the comments to this thread much more seriously if Ware mentioned Free and not having confidence in him replacing Flo at LT.

A diss is something almost like calling out someone for something, i.e. poor refereeing in a game, T.O. vs. McNabb & Garcia, Iverson etc.

Have we all forgotten the rule to draft week?

I would be willing to bet my handle name that we wont take a OT if we still have a 1st round pick come Thursday evening.

Dude... the title to the thread says "Demarcus Disses Free." You're complaining that the opposing viewpoint says "no he didn't?" Jeebus.

Impossible!!! The majority of the staff and this board has said Free is more than adequate, Ware is obviously clueless or senile...

:sarcasm:

to me, this is much ado about nothing. all I read out of that quote is that he has his friend flozell's back. This is no indictment on Free.

Why are we still talking about whether this is a diss or not? Sure the title might be a bit misleading, but the fact of the matter is, Ware did not mention who EVERYONE on this board has known about being our new LT when discussing the LT position.

There are only 2 ways to cut this. Either Ware never listens to the news or anyone who is aware of Free being the LT for us, or this was his way of saying Free isn't the answer without actually dissing Free.

WHO CARES ABOUT THE WHOLE DISS/DISRESPECT THING.

For the love of god can a moderator change the topic title. Can we please get back to what's actually concerning about the whole thing. That Ware, in an interview, brings up the LT position on his OWN, did not mention Free AT ALL when talking about Flo's replacement.

I just don't know how Ware of all people could NOT know Free was taking over at LT with the way Jerry and Co have been talking him up and it being covered on literally every sports station who mentions the Cowboys and the LT spot.

Even dc has said a few times that it's not an outright diss.

I could care less if Ware dissed him or not. What I do care about is the fact that Ware doesn't seem to think Free is our man.

A little dated...but I just thought I'd add a little more seasoning to the the thread. Carry on..

Tested For Ware, Free To Start

Todd Archer at the Dallas Morning News has reported that Doug Free will get the start at right tackle on Sunday against the visiting Commanders.

Free, a fourth round draft pick in 2007 out of Northern Illinois, has seen limited time since coming into the league and spent a great deal of his young career inactive. He replaced Colombo after the first quarter of last Sunday's loss to Green Bay, after the starter suffered a broken fibula.

Offensive line coach Hudson Houck said that the team tinkered with several options, including moving Leonard Davis to tackle, where he played for a season in Arizona. However, the team opted against making two moves to counteract one injury.

"The best [option] is exactly what we're doing," Houck said today. "[Free] can now zero in on playing just the right side."

The most significant playing time of Free's career thus far was the regular season finale against Washington in 2007, when Dallas had the division and home field advantage secure going into week 17. In this light, DeMarcus Ware has taken to preparing him to face an adept Commanders' defensive front by going against him in practice this week.

"Doug's been going against me every day in practice," Ware said yesterday in the News. "He stops me a lot. He's practiced against Greg [Ellis] when he was here. [Anthony] Spencer, a lot of good pass rushers. To be honest, Doug is really good. I think it's about him getting his confidence and even in practice I told him instead of going against the second-team guy I want to practice against you because you're going to have to go against a good pass rusher.

"I'm going to help to make sure he's ready so it's not going to be anything he hasn't seen. He's going to see the real thing in practice. I'll go over there."
