Yes. I feel warm and fuzzy inside just thinking about it.irishline;3038257 said:Are you assuming that to make yourself feel better about greatly overspending and giving Haynesworth 12 million a year over 4 years or because you suddenly realize what an extra million per year could have gotten you? Just wondering because it was spun brillantly.

This is my first day on your board and I was wanting to read about the cowboys since the hawks are playing them this week. Don't want to start off on the wrong foot here and have you guys think I just want to come bash your team. That was just a headline I was not expecting to see.

Funny coming from the guys who overpaid Grant Wistrom in free agency. That's why we had so much flack from Greg Ellis because he signed a much cheaper deal just a few months before free agency that year.Hawksfan81;3038293 said:Wow. Thats a huge contract. 40 mil guranteed? Thats like being the number one qb taken in the draft. I hope he continues to play at a high level because that is a huge chunk of change to justify paying a guy if there is any dropoff at all.

Good luck next week. You're catching us at a bad time from your perspective, I think. It should be a fun game.

He said, "we just went with the higher character guy."

While the Cowboys are expected to announce the contract extension of DeMarcus Ware here at 4:30, it’s believed the outside linebacker will receive $40 million guaranteed over the six-year extension that will keep him with the Cowboys through 2015.
Overall, the deal is expected to be $78 million, averaging right at $13 million per season.
This off-season, the Commanders signed Albert Haynesworth to a seven-year, $100 million deal with 40 million guaranteed.
Baltimore OLB Terrell Suggs had a $62.5 million deal with $38.5 million guaranteed and James Harrison, the Steelers pass-rusher and NFL Defensive Player of the Year received a $51 million deal with $20 million guaranteed.
I think the rules changed(the max went from 7 to 6) on the amount of years because of the cba is about to expire. I remember Jerry mention that around draft time and that it could make it harder to sign 1st rnd draft picks.NextGenBoys;3038481 said:Pretty much the deal I thought he'd get.
He's not a greedy SOB, and I didnt think he'd get mroe than Haynesworth.
Perfect contract IMO. He got paid, and we didnt completely break the bank.
Why didnt we lock him up 7 years tho?
