As a poster, how about you focus on what has been posted and leave the MOD advice alone.

Also, try to actually answer the questions. I am guessing that you are under the impression that I think what happened is OK. Is that accurate?

I think you somehow think the extremely safe city of Deming is justified for what they did and we just don't get it.

I understand what you are saying but year after year of drugs coming across the boarder make you feel less sensitive to those kinds of things. Lots of people losing their kids to drugs, lots of people tired of the drugs and all of the problems that come along with it, just in general. It's a different world here for sure. Can't really explain it to you.

Hate your government then...not the people? Like the US doesn't promote and enable drug trafficking?

So what is this
I think you somehow think the extremely safe city of Deming is justified for what they did and we just don't get it.

I don't really know much about this tool but whatever. For the record, Des Moines doesn't seem to be a very safe city, according to your tool. Is this the area you live in?

Also, for the record, these numbers are based on 2006 statistics. That seems like almost 8 year old data. Probably need to look at more current data.

Figured as much. Perhaps you can point to why you believe this. What exactly have I said that would lead you to believe that this was justified.

I'm patient. I'll wait.

If you don't live on the boarder, you have no clue what the situation with drugs and all kinds of other criminal activities are like.

this was false. the city in question is not dangerous, it is very safe. Cities not on the border have more problems with the drug trade then that town does, so your struggle to find a reason to justify it fell short.

hence the second link showing the trend from 2001 to the most recent fbi stats released.

OK, so that statement is true but how does that say that I am OK with what happened? You don't understand but that doesn't mean that I am OK with this. I'm just not believing that what has been reported is all of the story. I guarantee you it's not.

As far as your statement about safety, read my previous post. Your data is dated.

you claimed we simply can't speak on this issue because we aren't their. that is you defending the actions of that community.

I provided two links, you are just ignorant of how to use both links to see I proved my case.

Right. The second link you provided seems to indicate that Deming is getting more violent.

Other then Silver City, which is also close, the crime numbers being reported are suggestive of the fact that violent crime in the general area has increased substantially over the past 4 years. You will remember that earlier in this post, I commented on the fact that things have changed drastically in the last 4 or 5 years.

The second link indicates that from 2008 to 2011 (the last statistical data the FBI could produce), violent crimes have gone from 89.6 (2008) to 443.0 (2011) with the national average being 213.6

Does this not suggest to you that the area is, in fact, becoming much more violent? And you must keep in mind that there are lots of wide open spaces in this part of the country. Much of what happens is never even discovered.

That is your opinion. You are the same person who has claimed, all along, that Deming and the surrounding areas are some of the safest places in America.

I consider the source of this opinion and then give it it's due.

Fell free to read my last post on those links.

no. it shows a small city where a single incident bumps the crime rate up drastically.

the numbers are lower then they were in some years, higher then in other years, but even the 2011 numbers are smaller then a safe city in the middle of iowa, which was the point.

someone from Iowa can relate to the crime problems in New Mexico just fine. you don't have to live there as you claimed to understand the problems they face.

The statistics suggest that for a period of roughly 4 years, 2005 - 2008, the violent crime rates in Deming were well below the national average. However, for the previous years (1999 - 2003 with 2004 being at roughly the national average), the crime rates in that area were significantly higher then the National Averages. This would seem to support the theory that Deming and the surrounding areas are not the safest places in America.

Hey, these are your statistics. I don't really go by stats. I have been to these places and I know what they are. It is you who are providing this information as proof of your arguments. It is not my fault that the proof is not supporting your arguments.
