How does someone become a Dallas Cowboys fan, Alabama Crimson Tide fan, Los Angeles Lakers fan, New York Yankees fan (I’m assuming from the logo) and then a Vegas Golden knights fan. YOU be honest.

You guys know what's as annoying as people who try and crown someone too early? The people who say people shouldn't lol. Let the hype train begin. I don't care. Why is the pessimistic crowd always trying to temper expectations? Because of past hurt? Who cares?

Deuce Vaughn has been doubted his whole life. To the point he was one of the most productive college players and went in the 6th. He's not suppose to make it in college. He did. He's not suppose to get drafted. He did. He's not suppose to make it in the NFL. And you know what? Yeah it was against back ups but who cares? I see people hyping up what Jalen Carter did who was considered the best player in the NFL draft and he only played 2 snaps against a backup. So let the hype begin. I'm rooting for Deuce.

Lol 100% accurate. It's obnoxious being told to curb my enthusiasm. If I want to get hyped I'm going to, regardless of quite possibly being wrong. Deuce is a player. He's shifty **, and I don't care who he's playing against. Those moves are legit. My only question is can his body hold up? I believe he can, simply because he has that trait, the one where he's damn hard to put a lick on.

I admit to hating the draft pick and seeing Deuce as not much more than a gadget guy. I never bought into the numbers at K-State cuz B12 defenses are terrible and I chalked the Bama game results up to a lack of interest by the Tide given (Bama standards apply) they weren't playing for anything. I still hold onto this to some degree but who cares, that was then.

That being said, I need to see more Deuce against better competition. For one, I think he's clearly earning the playing time. First PS game he froze a couple dudes in their tracks and has so far proven to be elusive at this level.

In relation to the other Cowboys backs we've seen thus far, Deuce has given a very good account of himself. Actually, the other guys haven't really met expectations thus far whereas Deuce may have exceeded it.

To fairly play devils advocate, there were two plays I saw him taken down (one by what appeared to be a few fingers on a shoulderpad?) that perhaps a back with more in the posterior may have run through, and one play had Greir rolling to left and plainly trying to guide a pass to a target that's smaller than what he's accustomed to. Is that a legit QB concern or is that just Greir being Greir. I'm being fair and holding judgement on that one.

Bottom line: If I can hold judgement, and I didn't like the guy, I think others can fairly let the preseason play out before we cast a verdict. Let's see more Deuce.

I’ve seen on other threads here Deuce Vaughn described as having “foreboding tenacity” and being a “lethal weapon”. While that may be a bit much, at this point in his NFL career, you seem reasonable. What would you consider an appropriate expectation for Vaughn, rushing yards and receiving yards, during this upcoming season?

The Yankee logo is not my fault. I could not find a CowboyBamaLaker fan only logo... not a HUGE baseball guy, but I do pull for the Astros when I watch.

EXACTLY. What I want to see against backups is I why to see the guys who look like a man among boys. Who looks like they don't belong with the competition. And Vaughn keeps showing it. The pessimistic crowd doesn't want to believe in him because society says we shouldn't. He shouldn't be successful. But like you said, the stuff he's doing is going to work towards any and everyone.

He's an anamoly for sure.

Nobody is talking about, on the 6-yard run, when he got blasted sideways by first contact or the single-arm tackle around the shoulders that pulled him backwards. Those are just as telling about his skillset as the spin move highlight.

That's fair.

I've been saying: he'll have plays where he looks like a rag doll. But he'll have 2x or 3x the plays where he makes defenders look hopeless.

Deuce averaged 6.25 on his carries Saturday. Yes, very small sample size. But you look at how much space he had to work with...another back does well to get 4.5 w/ those 8 carries.
