Yes, at the trolls, haters and low life’s sure. Aren’t you?
Angry? No.

Irritated at trolls? Sometimes yes.

The term 'haters' has been overused as often as 'wearing rose colored glasses'. Any conversational use has been smeared to the point that the person using either term may be just as much of a reflection of them as their target.

Low lifes? This is CowboysZone. It is home to fans of all kinds. This is not some twisted version of a federal penitentiary. Please. Differentiate. Finally.

I admit to hating the draft pick and seeing Deuce as not much more than a gadget guy. I never bought into the numbers at K-State cuz B12 defenses are terrible and I chalked the Bama game results up to a lack of interest by the Tide given (Bama standards apply) they weren't playing for anything. I still hold onto this to some degree but who cares, that was then.

That being said, I need to see more Deuce against better competition. For one, I think he's clearly earning the playing time. First PS game he froze a couple dudes in their tracks and has so far proven to be elusive at this level.

In relation to the other Cowboys backs we've seen thus far, Deuce has given a very good account of himself. Actually, the other guys haven't really met expectations thus far whereas Deuce may have exceeded it.

To fairly play devils advocate, there were two plays I saw him taken down (one by what appeared to be a few fingers on a shoulderpad?) that perhaps a back with more in the posterior may have run through, and one play had Greir rolling to left and plainly trying to guide a pass to a target that's smaller than what he's accustomed to. Is that a legit QB concern or is that just Greir being Greir. I'm being fair and holding judgement on that one.

Bottom line: If I can hold judgement, and I didn't like the guy, I think others can fairly let the preseason play out before we cast a verdict. Let's see more Deuce.

Kay Adams says the NFL messed up letting the Cowboys steal Deuce Vaughn?
Good enough for me.
With their first pick of the 2023 Fantasy Draft, the Tyke1does select ...

I’m a Longhorn fan so watch lots of Big 12 games. One, their defenses are not “horrible “ that’s just an exaggeration. Secondly never rely on stats to make a judgement. If you watched him play you would see how good he is. And he’s been good at every level. And now he’s doing the same thing at the NFL level. He’s going up against one of the best defenses in the NFL daily. I don’t need to see him in all preseason games. He’s going to make the team and be a big contributor on offense.

The point is that if you're only evaluating what a RB does before they're contacted, then theyre all the same because they only get what the OL provides.
That's not true. Some are better at avoiding contact in the first place, which would obviously mean they do more before contact than others do. Look at Barry Sanders. There were times nobody touched him even when there were several defenders in the backfield.

Yes, some have better vision than others to find the right gap, etc. But that is not the skillset that differentiates great from average RBs, at all, because it's still predicated on blocking.

Barry Sanders was a far superior athlete and played against far worse athletes than today. He's irrelevant.

I'm not comparing him to Barry. I don't compare anyone to Barry. I'm just using his elusiveness in the backfield as an example of why some RBs can distinguish themselves even before contact. I have no idea if Deuce is gonna turn the league upside down, or just have occasional bursts of success, but after watching him against Jax, I'm certainly not counting him out.

I never said B12 defenses are horrible. I said they are "terrible". Hook 'em Horns!

Agree that Deuce makes the team, just curious to what degree his roll will be.

We Are.

Love Kay Adams, she was great on GMF And so much better than the current gal there. Her contract was up, there was discussion of her joining the new AMZN Thursday night games but that obviously did not work out. I believe she is now with Fanduel, has been doing the rounds of all 32 teams this summer. Smart, good looking and a great personality. Still single too I believe! Want to say that she was dating the Patriots receiver for awhile, can’t recall his name but small dude and a white guy. Name totally slips me right now…

This is obviously wrong. Some players create by making themselves difficult to get contact on. They can get you more than what's blocked by making unblocked guys miss. That's a big part of Deuce's game.

Your 'point' has forced you to take the ridiculous position that the additional yardage from the spin move Deuce made to avoid first contact actually counts as yards after contact. That should have tipped you off to something being wrong with your theory.

YAC is what differentiates running backs. Any back in the league can get 6 yards untouched.

A back that size getting hit directly sideways, by a safety nonetheless, and not falling forward at the second level is going to lose yards relative to other players. This isn't a mystery.

It's the first two carries here: premiere backs turn both of those into more yardage

Wouldn’t forward progressed be marked down at the point where he was hit?
