This guy was basically a 7th round pick. I think the 17th RB drafted. He was the best player in their board at the time.

He will have the same expectations on him as any 7th round pick, extremely lucky to just make the team.

He will end up on the practice squad. They'll work with him on kick/punt returns. More importantly, they'll see if he can hold up.

This team has Superbowl aspirations. No way Vaughn is our primary backup RB. And no way they let him learn how to field punts on the fly, especially when we have a pro bowler on the roster.

Third RB. If Im taking a flyer, Id be more interested in Luepke. I really like Davis as well. And there could be some other capable guys come training camp or camp cuts.
Most had him as a late 4th round pick. He will probably be a big part of the offense. Your practice squad prediction is ridiculous. The odds are very good that Vauhgn and Luepke both play roles on this team. That is if Luepke is healthy and can hold up.

Deuce Vaughn against Power Five competition last year: 25-149-2 27-129-0 24-181-0 12-37-0 16-121-1 26-176-2 26-159-1 33-156-1 22-67-1 27-229-1 28-160-1 22-133-1 (Alabama)

I'm not going to predict success with a severely undersized 6th round pick, but he's beat up on some legit competition, and blue chip NFL players. He is far from slow either. There's more to speed than a 40 time.
Beat up? lol

He had a lot of untouched long runs, and got a lot of carries. Had a really good college career.

Ive watched, where I can find them, his complete touches for a game. Id recommend you doing the same.

Ive never in my entire time of watching football ever seen a player literally picked up off the ground and slammed back down as much as him.

He is tough, I'll give him that. But little bones break much easier than big bones.

Lol, all running backs get hurt. He was the leading ball carrier in all of college football over the last 3 years and didn't break anything.

Agreed, no one is anointing him, but so many "fans" can't wait to dismiss the man. A guy that size performing like he has takes an incredible amount of mental fortitude, or heart. Let's see him put it on display before making up our minds.
Nearly EVERYONE on this board is anointing him, FFS. Im all for giving him a chance. He earned it.

But IMHO, he will be lucky to play on the practice squad a few years before becoming a scout, like his dad.

Please save this. He has a great chance at being outstanding.

You do realize the difference between college and the NFL, right? And why he was the 17th rb drafted. Right?

This is exactly why I wrote the OP. I don’t want him to be treated like Turpin, where every time he’s in there it’s a WR screen or hand it off to Turpin in motion.

To me Deuce is a legit (albeit unique) RB, and will need to get RB2 quantities of carries to not become a 1-trick element in the offense. He’s too dynamic to be cornered in like that
I wouldn’t say Every time. He had 62 regular season snaps on offense with 1 reception and 3 carries and the reception wasn’t a screen.

Most who? You? The Cowboys, who would have every little nugget of anything positive didnt take him until their 6th round comp pick.

He was 17th because there were a lot of good backs to chose from. You are just blind because he is small. The guy is outstanding, great vision, great decision making, great in space, hard to stop between the tackles, great receiver. His weakness is blocking because he is small. His size helps him in other areas.

Calm down. We get it, you don't like him. I don't care.

Had Vaughn been 3-4" taller, he would have been a 3rd rounder.

Those discounting his ability to play in this league are in for a surprise.

Almost everyone makes him look brilliant. He took over a sport franchise making peanuts every year and turned it into a franchise that makes well over a million dollars every single day.
I'm amazed at the number of people that claim he is an idiot or dumb.

He was 17th because he's a smaller dude. Kinda obvious.

The question is just how much he can contribute at his size. It's not about talent.

He's a football idiot and has gone out of his way to prove it to you. You have to ignore a ton of blatant evidence to think otherwise.

No one is claiming he is dumb as a businessman.

No. Sorry, but I and the NFL disagree.
