It's going to be sad to see the king of east texas rotting away in cleveland. smh

Why do you say that? Hey, he's god's gift to football...! If he goes to Cleveland they should win tons of SB's, right?

I mean, he would be the QB and his team should win, regardless of the other scrubs on the Browns. You expect Romo to win tons of SB's with his team because he is the QB, why not the best thing since sliced bread can't do it all by his badself in Cleveland?

I don't expect Romo to win us tons of Super Bowls. Those days have lonnnnng passed. All I want is a conference championship game. Is that too much to ask from the 100 million dollar QB?

Johnny would put us even more in the spotlight and make Jerry richer...Win or Lose. That would be the only reason Jerry would even consider selling the farm to draft Manziel. Having said that, I don't think Jerry will do it but if he was a little older, more senile, and more greedy, he would pull an Al Davis and not think twice about it. That's who Jerry is becoming. The only difference is Al thought a player or two would get him a ring where Jerry is looking at the money aspect of it. I just hope that we draft a good QB in the 2nd or 3rd who turns out good and takes over for Romo when the time comes.........

Furthermore, remove the QBs and hype (see Claiborne, etc) and some would argue that Cleveland had a better overall roster last year.

Sometime, go through their 2013 roster and do the comps.

I'm sorry DUDE but you're not allowed back on the bandwagon if Manziel is drafted by the Cowboys. You've spoken too much ill will about the prince to be allowed back in the fold. Ask forgiveness for your sins and the council may reconsider down the line.
Lol

That IS good

Still, I too would prefer no Johnny in Rd 1 for Dallas

I keep hearing how much more money this would bring, but Dallas already leads the league by a mile in attendance. They already sell out.
As for Jerseys, that is shared revenue.

If J-"Football" falls to sixteen or we reach up a few slots to snag the kid, I won't snivel and cry myself to sleep at night. Romo is a statistical machine. That's great. But he's coming off how many back surgeries in two years? If a miracle happens and we land Manziel, I'd be thrilled. It's most likely not going to happen, but I'd be happy to land a helluva QB in Manziel. Again, probably ain't gonna happen. JF ain't getting out of the top 10.

I suspect it may even be 10% now who want him over Romo and also instead of a 1st rounder that plays defense or Oline.
That's a pretty high number.

Otherwise, even big Manziel advocates like Staubach says no way to Manziel in Dallas, Because Dallas "already has an excellent franchise QB" in Romo. Plus they so many huge gaping holes and greater needs.

Almost nobody out there is touting Manziel over Romo, actually.

IMO, Staubach realized that what he said about how good Manziel will be wasn't ideal for Romo... so he simply said what was best for Tony and the team. I think Roger would feel like anytime would be a good time to get Manziel on the team. Johnny Football is the second coming of Roger the Dodger for crying out loud.

And why is it that the Dez/Manziel picture makes me want him on the team even more than I already did?

I can hope he ends up in Dallas. Afterall... it is ALL about the QB.

No problem...you are allowed to hope.

But you can't speak for Staubach just to fit you agenda. He said what're said and it makes sense. Most people...especially coaches and GMs all seem to think the same way.
They all see the massive holes in the Dallas roster, the uncertainties with Manziel (even those that love him) and a franchise QB getting well paid already on the roster...and they say taking JFF does not make sense.

Just a few years ago, the fans in Houston put high pressure on the franchise to draft another dominating college QB. Lucky for them they didn't take Vince Young...or Matt Leinart.

Manziel may turn out to be great, but bust rates for 1st round QBs are right around 50%

I don't think he gets passed the Browns especially now with the owner having a love affair for the kid

I'm allowed to hope? You sure?

One, I don't have an agenda. I like Manziel and I think he will be good. I want Dallas to draft him if he gets close to us. If that is what you're calling an agenda, then fine.

Two, If you thought that I was trying to speak for Staubach, then I don't know what to tell you. I made sure to begin the sentence with IMO so everyone would understand that it was only my opinion. And my opinion is that Roger thought better of it and how Romo might take his support of Johnny.

Three, I'm not a fan of Houston and could give a rat's *** what they do. I couldn't stand Vince Young and if you think that ****** and Johnny Manziel are even in the same galaxy as a QB, then you judge QB's very differently than I do.

Finally, I'm not sure what you're trying to say with the last sentence you wrote. Yeah, first round QB's bust at about 50%. Later round QB's bust at an even higher rate. Are you saying Dallas should never use a draft pick on a QB? I'm not sure how you want to find Romo's successor.

Yeah at this point all that money Tony got amounted to very little

The number of fans who would sacrifice the 1st round pick and a season to get out of this Romo contract is above 10 percent way above. This deal is approaching Arod contract status

Fair enough.

As for the last comment...I think most (almost all) scouts and analysts think all of these QBs this year carry more risk than a top 10 pick should.
They fall more into the to the Vince Young, Matt Leinert ratings than the Luck and RG3 ratings.

My main issue with Manziel is more the position he plays given what I think are team needs. Add in the risk...IMO..and it's silly to take him even at 16.
In someone disagrees, good for them.
