Fact.

Dez put himself in a situation that ended up with him getting arrested.

Fact.

This makes the team look terrible.

Fact.

Players are continually told to avoid situations that could lead to trouble.

Actually, that is not true, bro.

You cannot judge the actions of the many on the transgressions of one.

Repeatedly?
Dez's mom mentioned in the 911 call that Dez has assaulted her in the past and she said "this has to stop".

InmanRoshi;4623542 said:
True, but if she initiated or threatened a violent attack on him he was entirely in his right to physically restrain her.
It doesn't matter who started it. You don't hit your parents back. If she indeed started it, Dez should have just left. Remember, he is the millionaire here. They need him more than he needs them. He should have just left. Of course, his inferior intellect told him otherwise. What I'm saying is, he is not worth the headache. He is not even that good.

You are being unrealistic Abe.

Trouble can occur anywhere. In this case it happened at his Mom's house. His prior incident happened at a nightclub. His sagging pants happened at a mall.

Basically, anywhere you are there are circumstances that could be "unsafe" at the wrong time.

I want to hear his side before I make a judgement one way or the other.

What a completely and utterly stupid thing to say.

If someone is assaulting you, you have every right to get them to stop assaulting you. It doesn't matter who it is. If someone is attempting to rake out your eyes you don't just stand there and go permanently blind because it's your mother.

Finally, it doesn't do Dez Bryant the player, Dez Bryant the person or the Cowboys organization any good to release him over a misdemeaner charge. Denver fans aren't clammoring to get rid of Elvis Dummervil because he got into a road rage accident earlier this week. Because Denver fans aren't pants on the head ********.

Ironically, these rules are in place to protect the abused from people who say things like "she's probably lying, after all she's a junkie" or "she's just being spiteful and trying to get him in trouble"

Exactly...that's why an arrest was put out and Dez gave himself up.

The judge and jury will now decide.

And yet, out of all the players on the team, it keeps happening to the same guy every time.

Amazing coincidence.

I've clearly noted the relevant facts below. Players are told repeatedly to avoid situations that could lead to trouble. Dez failed to do that (twice now this off season, in fact) and has been arrested.

You can try to play the "maybe this and maybe that" card, but it is clear that Dez cannot seem to keep himself out of trouble.

Dude! He was at his mothers house! He was not "making it rain" at some seedy 'script club'....

Umm, it's his mother man. It's not as simple as you're making it out to be. I'm pretty sure when they say avoid situations that lead to trouble they aren't speaking about dysfunctional families. It's directed at night clubs.

I've never heard of the "maybe this and maybe that" card. I think you might have just made that up. I tell it like is though. I'm sorry for that.

I think you and most of the posters here need to separate what happened and what the police believe occurred (Dez being arrested for assaulting his mother) from what you really really want to be the case (her being a lying crack addict).

Yes, I want this to be untrue. But not enough to ignore the most likely explanation -- that he did, in fact assault his mother. You see, I can't just let being a fan of the team blind me to the most likely reality here.

AbeBeta, your problem is that you call em like you see em Cowboys player or not. You are arguing against people that decide what side they fall on based on if a Cowboys player is involved or not. You don't stand a chance.:laugh2:

Why bother with a silly judge and jury? They should just call up Abe, he already knows exactly how it went down.

Absolutely none of us know exactly what happened. Let's just say there isn't a single person in this incident who has a pristine background, to say the least. We haven't even heard Dez' testimony, much less even seen this go up in front of so much as a Grand Jury. So we're all just basing opinions on our own projections.

People can have different POVs on this topic on a wide range of biases and prejudices. What team a guy plays for being the least of them.

Yeah, Dez is a bad mutha(shut your mouth)!

Baggy pants on the ground.

Paying late for some bling.

Turning himself in on an arrest warrant.

Yeah...electric chair bad!

For the record my stance has nothing to do with him being a Cowboy. I'm being completely objective about this. I could care less about what team he plays for. I could also care less if the rest of the league thinks the team is a joke because of this. As long as the team wins let them think that. Winning is all that matters.

Speaking of utterly stupid, if my mom were to get physical with me I would just get out of the house, Dez has everything to lose by staying there.

You realize Dez has the potential to be a top 5 receiver, right? Look at Randy Moss... guy was trouble before he was even drafted, similar to Dez, and he dropped in the draft. But he cleaned his act up and became one of the best receivers in the league at the time when he was with the Vikings. To say Dez is not even that good means you don't watch him play and see the massive amount of talent he has... or you set your standards too high for him.

also, if you're a player on the cowboys and it upsets you that Dez has hurt the reputation of the team you should being applying makeup to faces at a local mall, not playing football.

So you're saying if this was Mike Vick, the board would be so cautious after the arrest and 911 call? Please.:lmao:
