"Police did not immediately arrest Bryant because police saw no evidence of the assault. Evidence of the injuries, however, surfaced a day or two later, said DeSoto police Capt. Ron Smith during a news conference Tuesday morning."
I'll take the police captain's word over yours. Thanks!
Ok, I'll type slowly for you, since you don't basic human anatomy, or domestic violence laws.
Bruises and swelling may take hours to appear, but not days. Per the 911 call, she did not mention being hit in the parts of the body where the bruising and swelling appeared. She did mention the tearing of clothes and being hit in the face with a cap.
The police came back on Monday because she called them. The injuries appeared at that time. All the captain said was that the injuries appeared on Monday. If she was truly injured, why not call when she woke up on Sunday?
Domestic violence laws in most states, and likely Texas, dictate that the police must make an arrest if a victim displays physical injury. This is why the police did not seek a warrant on Saturday, as there was a complaint but no injury. On Monday, there was a complaint with injury.
Now I know this is difficult for you to keep up with, but question: If she was injured Saturday night, but they didn't appear immediately, why wait until Monday to call? It does not take a day or two for bruises and swelling to appear.
If she had a broken bone or internal injuries, yes, those can take time to become apparent. But tissue damage? Try again Skippy.
What happened on Sunday? Police department closed? Phone cut off?
I don't doubt the injuries were there on Monday. I just doubt they occurred Saturday.
