Ummm, because it's his mom. I doubt he'd sign off on a verbal assault against his mother.

Regardless of her history or their collective history, that's still the only mother he will ever have and he probably doesn't want to go that route.

He lost his ability to have any input on the matter when he jeopardized multi million dollar investments by assaulting the mother he obviously loves so much.

Irrelevant, media fire storm resulted from it.

This isn't sagging in the mall or being late on your bills.

Why aren't guys like Ware, Romo, Witten, etc not in stories like these? Because they aren't surrounded by these kinds of people and don't need babysitters like Dez obviously does.

Dallas knew what they were getting when they drafted him, and his advisers, etc have completely dropped the ball.

Stop the excuses!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He was a questionable pick when we drafted him ,had to keep watch on him throughout the off season and now this???

You woudn't like him to be friends with you or your kids ,but because he can catch a football for your team, we're supposed to give him a break.

Stop it!!!!!

If he wasn't any good , you would all say to get rid of him,but because he can catch a football better than some we'll look past his problems,
Give me a break.

He's a good one for my kid to look up to as a Football player in the NFL.

Actually it's because their mother wasn't a crackhead, prostitute, or drug dealer.

according to her she hasn't done a drug in over a decade. this was a freaking domestic dispute. they happen thousands and thousands of times a day in this country. why can't we just leave it at that without jumping to all these asinine conclusions.

you sound suspect

Some of you are very naive. People pick up the phone and dial 911 for no reason all the time. Just because the police were there doesn't mean Dez did anything. Nor does it mean he didn't do anything. But it's incredibly naive to think people don't pick up the phone and make untruthful accusations. Be a patrolman for a week or so and you'll figure it out. SSDD and it's generally the same people every time.

Problem with that is Dez can be judged the same way, and that might not be a good judgement for him either (although obviously not as bad as his mom).

I just hope we can get the facts, and hopefully nothing bad happens to Dez or his mom for that matter.

But Dez has never been arrested and never done drugs. So if you are going to do that, which one would you believe?

The one who got a citation for being with someone who had baggy pants or the one with multiple Drug arrests and jail time?

You know he assaulted her, how? Because she said so? The cops didn't think so that night.

How the hell is it irrelevant? If he didn't do it then he shouldn't be pilloried like he is.

I could say you have sex with frogs, but does it make it true? Just because someone says something unless there is evidence to back it up, odds are, it isn't true.

I'm curious. What are we excusing him for? No one is excusing anything. But some of us doubt the veracity of the charge considering the source.

..and by "these kinds of people", you mean HIS FAMILY? What do you people want him to do, abandon his family because they arn't all role models?

I agree with you though, some in here certainly are delusional. They are the ones suggesting he abandon his family and throw his own mother under the bus publicly in order to make himself look better. Good grief.. no moral compass at all there, huh apollo?

The issue that your son has to look to the NFL to find a role model is more of an issue with your parenting skills, rather than Dez Bryant

BINGO. How many of these 911 calls do we hear from these morons because someone forgot to put their fries in the bag at McDonalds. People use the 911 system as a weapon to unleash on anyone they have a disagreement with.

No one is making excuses. A possible "other side of the story" has been presented. In other words sanity has been injected into the conversation to calm the over reactors down. We don't know all of the facts of the story. It could very well be different than what has been shared by the oh so reliable media. It's impossible to make excuses when all of the facts haven't been presented.

That might be the most profound statement in this entire thread. Maybe the entire forum.

Right now on NFL Live they are basically doubting Dez gets any suspension at all. They then move on to point out Lynch and Dumervil are in bigger trouble.
