You obviously haven't paid any attention to his posts in the past on this subject. He played 3 games this year and had a 102 against wash and was averaging 13.6 yards per clip.. I mean really? Do we have a short memory with the QB play last year, and the fact that he still wasn't healthy coming back after the broken foot? Perspective is an important thing that seems to be forgotten and dismissed on this board.

If he's not healthy, he shouldn't be on the field. It's not an excuse. Truth is, Dez does not produce for his pay grade, even when healty. We've been beating some pretty damn good teams without Dez and his distractions. He's not even our best WR.....

Gronk didn't play well until Brady came back. WR and TE are the only positions that rely on somebody else. Safe to say last year was a wash for Dez because of terrible QB play

Is it time for a trick play? Dez can throw the ball. I know it won't happen, but a girl can dream.

What does Dez past performance have to do with anything? The point that the OP is making is that Dez hasn't done s*** for this team lately, and that includes before the injury. Dez needs to produce like a 70 mil dollar WR and stop dropping the ball when he hits the ground. How many 100 yard games has Dez had over the past 10 he has played? All the OP is saying is that Dez needs to shut up and let his play do all the talking. By the way, what happened to the people saying Beasley wouldn't produce without Dez on the field? Truth is, this team can win without Dez.....
"the team can win without Dez"..ok whats your point?, Dez is on the team. Patriots can win without Brady and Gronk, doesnt make them any less valuable.

Before the injury Dez played 3 weeks of football. He dominated for 100 yards in one of them, and scored a TD in another. He only had 1 bad game. The narrative that he has not contributed needs to die, he's made plays 2/3 of the weeks, not even mentioning the fact he keep defenses honest.

Oh, so we should not play our best players if they dont play up to their contract as judged by random internet "fans". Seems legit.

As annoying as that narrative is, the good news is it will die again as soon as he has his next big game. There will be the ceremonial eating of crow, and then it's all good again like nothing ever happened.

Not sold on Butler as a starter, he dropped a bomb today and had a stupid penalty that likely cost us points. He is more of a role player than a starter imo.

Butler is no threat to Dez's job if that's the point you're trying to make.

Where did I say not to play our best players? I said they shouldn't be on the field if they're injured. I'm tired of that excuse. If you're saying he's not producing because he's hurt then why is he playing?

I absolutely hope I'm eating a big plate of crow by seasons end. But I'm talking consistency here too, not 1 good game every 3 or 4. Don't just talk the talk Dez.....

Hes not on the field injured. Why are you even talking about it. He will be healthy when he is on the field. Again, why are you even talking about it?

good post, many still think this is 2014.
To be honest I dont think dez would have made the catch in EZ that butler made, I am fairly sure he would have stepped out, or juggled the ball
too long.
From the way Dak has acted and talked, he doesnt really want dez out there.

Beasley wouldn't produce without Dez on the field? ,,,, just some more people proven wrong

Very few players produce at a high level after getting the big contract, some dont even try.

You're fairly sure? Dez has made plenty more difficult catches than that.

Like that TD catch, you're making another wild assumption that Dak doesnt want Dez back like you're in that locker room. You have no idea what Dak's thinking.

And to EVEN IMPLY that Dez isnt even trying is ridiculous. He's the most passionate player on this team. I'd swear the man was actually playing and averaging 1 catch a game with the way some people on here talk about him. He's been injured. It happens. He had terrible quarterback play when he was in the line up last year and has had a rookie QB who hardly threw it 10 yards past the line of scrimmage the first 3 weeks of the season when he was playing.

I dont know if Dez is capable of performing like he did in 2014 with the identity this offense has right now which is run the ball and make safe intermediate passes, but regardless he's still gonna be a HUGE asset to this offense and change the way secondaries cover us. He's just gonna have to accept the fact that the passing game isnt gonna revolve around getting him the ball and I think with the way the offense has looked without him, he's will.

He was on the field last year because the NFC east was pathetic and we still had a chance till week 14.
Also, Butler seemed to be injured all of last year and our next best option was Street.

So, an injured 1 foot Dez was our best option. Personally, I thought we should of shut him down once it was clear his foot was hampering him, but the team still thought it could squeak into the playoffs.

He didn't have any bad games. I guess fantasy nerds would say his Giants game was bad. But anyone who knows better would say he was sent on 23 fly patterns in that game and was schemed to be only a decoy for most of that game. So it wasn't Dez having a bad game. It was Dez doing what the team decided he would do.

This board has become infested with anti Dez characters unfortunately. Look at the threads about his clothes ect. Awful.

Dez wouldn't have been playing the right side on that play anyway.
So you think Butler is the better option because you don't think Dez would have made that catch in the end zone.
I haven't seen anything to suggest Dak doesn't want Dez out there. And if Dak doesn't want Dez out there then it's a troubling sign for Dak. A leader and franchise QB isn't that insecure.

This is the best thing that ever happened to Dez and this team, I am talking about his injury. For the first time sitting on the sidelines Dez has to be feeling that this team can win without him, and that he is expendable. With all the talk in the media and fans about trading him or that he is a team distraction with missed meetings, appointments etc... This will finally light a bulb in his head to make him come back with fire and vengeance. I truly believe that we will be seeing a different Dez than the old one.
