We still think we can run the "Emmitt Smith" offense of the 90s and beat teams. We can't.
Nevertheless, I think it's telling when Sean Lee basically admits that he told Dez to be more accountable to the team.
Unfortunately, he was like TO without the same level of talent and determination, and the Cowboys let TO go.

I remember something about FO asking dez would he take a paycut, and he said no.
after that they decided to just cut him.
It could be that rock nation guys told him not to take a paycut, but if he had, he would still be a cowboy.
I doubt jerry and son liked dealing with the rock boys, and that could have led to them cutting dez.

The agent dez had before had a good relationship with cowboys, and dez fired him, big mistake.

I'm not sure if ever got to the point that he refused an offer to take a pay cut. His agent (or PR people) and Dez made it clear on social media during the offseason that he would never take a pay cut. I would understand if Jerry never bothered to offer it.
