True.

We will also not be a contending team, once Romo retires in about 2 years. So what are you saying?

If the next two draft classes of wide receivers pan out, Dez will not have another opportunity like this to make this kind of money on a team built to win now.

That type of thinking gets you Joey Galloway and Roy Williams. Think long term. They essentially have Dez locked up for 2 years.

Don't even mention those guys.....

Not if Dez doesn't like the "rules" he had in his last contract. I think Dallas wants those in this one, too, according to the word around the local media.

Those rules aren't even in place today.

The Dez rules have been relaxed for years.

Of course they can. I don't want them to have to but they can. Dez is only one man.

Romo is only one man.

Not saying they are important. But in a league driven by parity it is your superstars that get people over the hump.

Does it bother anyone else how much of a constant distraction he is?

This is why the Cowboys are reportedly wanting strong language in there that minimizes their guaranteed money exposure if Dez hits a few speed bumps along the way.

He can sit and just be a witness to the team win the division.

With Murray gone the Cowboys won't be going anywhere without Dez they could very well be back to 8-8 or worse without him.
