LOL Dez. More than Megatron?

Insane. Have fun making no money in 2015 or likely 2016.

I don't agree with Dez's potential decision to not play, but again, it's very easy when it's not your money.

Look at a guy like Johnny Knox, who definitely wasn't as good, but he sure as heck could use the money. Dude can barely walk. You never know.

Why should DAL have to pay 40m for one year and a torn ACL?

Dez can buy insurance for 10m for 100k

Because that's the cost of business. Dez currently is under no financial obligation to play for Dallas, so if you want him to, you have to come to an understanding.

Come out to the oil rigs and see what roughnecks do without 13 million guaranteed. Or go up to the NW and watch loggers work for a week.

I'd love to see Dez standing on a rotary table with a 40 ft drillpipe swinging around his head.

A lot of jobs are dangerous and none of them get paid 1/10 in their entire cumulative careers compared to what Dez can make in one season on the franchise tag.

If you can't be set for life with 13 million dollars, no amount of money is going to get you financially secure. That excuse is ridiculous.

all of this

Id go take the chance and shoot guns for $100k a year and love every second of it.

quit crawfishing on your dumb argument.

if you're comparing the ability to shoot at a gun range, which let's be honest, won't fill a stadium, nor warrant b covered on TV to playing football, the you are the one with a dumb argument.

If I were Dallas and Dez sat out 10 games, I'd sit him when he came back barring some sort of weird rash of injuries at WR. Then, tag him again and take the picks from a dumb team and say sayonara and get his replacement for rookie money in the draft. People complaining about Escobar not getting utilized, throw him out there. We are paying a lot of guys to catch a football. It's on Romo to put it on target. That is why QUARTERBACKS get paid the biggest money.

I've got a number in my head and you guys get three guesses, corresponding to the number of not SB wins, but playoff wins that CJ brought Detroit, and the 1st two don't count. All the chicken littles about Dez costing us on the field (including the prior #88) can't do simple cost analysis.

There are far too many good WR's coming out of the draft for the Cowboys to lock Dez upto an insane amount which hinders us from extending guys like Martin, Frederick & Gregory when they're up for renewal. It's not like the Safety position, where alot of guys have busted and there isn't more than 2 or 3 decent prospects per draft class. There's been a string of seasons with WR's taking up 6+ of the first round picks

Even the lesser ones like Deandre Hopkins are still good. Dez needs to take the money and run. A bunch of young guys are killing his position.

Yup. If we sign Dez to a dumb contract, we lose the ability to make fun of the Eagles having 3 high priced vets as RBs. It makes just about as much sense. If Dez can't see what we're building, and is just thinking about maximizing the amount of money he can get, then screw him. It won't be that hard to replace him.

three running backs is so much worse, but I still get your point. Three running backs. So glad the Eagles are so stupid.

It actually will be that hard to replace him. Dez is a superstar with Hall of Fame talent. Let's not pretend he is Jeremy Maclin. Not saying we will never replace him. But look at how many misses we had between Irvin and Dez.

You want to pay him more than Megatron? Calvin Johnson's deal is for eight years and $150.5 million.

I don't know where that number came from but CJohnson got 7/113m with 49m guaranteed

And Dallas is under no obligation to pay him a single penny beyond the franchise tender (they're technically not currently even obligated for that, but I am assuming that they will not pull the offer sheet).

I have every faith that Bryant has already spent his 2015 salary, if not on paper then at least in his mind, and needs the money more than Dallas needs him.

Yeah the understanding that Dez isn't a FA and Dallas doesn't have to guarantee him anything more than the Franchise tag for the next 2 years.
