You know football is just as much mental as physical, correct?

If he is mentally not trusting himself because he is playing injured, that could have an impact on every aspect of his play. I am down on Dez this year as well and have voiced my displeasure with some of his effort on this forum but I can see how everything will be related.

It is not a poor contract. Even if Dez is not the same ever, that is not Jerry's fault. Dez deserved that contract based on being an All Pro receiver. Jerry couldn't predict injuries.

No, it's a Jones fracture, and he'll be fine as long as he rests it properly in the offseason.

Tremendous amount of stress at that site for any stopping/starting/changing direction.

Yep. While they were cleared medically, they probably both returned about a month too soon.
