News: Dez To Work With “Route Guru”

And none of our coaches did anything about it? Doesn't that say something about our coaching staff? At all? Sorry but I can never forget when Matt Cassel got here and said he was looking for help and no one was around. Maybe our coaches should have worked on his route running years ago and he wouldn't be needing to go seek help from other people outside of the organization. Just my opinon

:hammer::clap::clap::clap::clap::clap:

Now we just need to get him a hands guru, so he can hold onto the ball. :D

Than get the coaching staff a passing offense guru and they will be on their way.

No. We need to get Velcro for Dez' hands, a soft leather helmet, a "binkie" pacifier for Dez to suck on a full time babysitter and a full time counselor to sit on the sidelines and discuss how he is "feeling" during the game.

So this guy basically confirmed:

Bryant right now is not a great route runner

The scheme is archaic

50/50 balls and slants is essentially all he is asked to do.

...again Dak deferred way too much to Dez’s ego. He isn’t quite as explosive as he used to be and this was the difference. Here’s hoping this coach can help him and the offense is updated to the 21st century.

Let me try to find how many 9 year NFL WRs hired "route gurus" at that stage of their careers. My guess is very few.

Seems as though a route guru might have done him some good about 10 years ago ..

Agreed and it is also too bad that you would have to hire one because your coaches are not up to the task.

I would love to see dallas attempt to start using dez in a more Larry fitz style. I think dez could crush people in the slot with some practice there.

I agree, if he can focus on catching in traffic. He missed a few when defenders were in a position to hit him.

I doubt it transpired in that fashion. Dez loves him some Dez.... Now that throwing up the X isn't happening as often and fans are ready to toss him out to pasture, he is feeling the pressure. Gotta keep that gravy train flowing.

I'd restructure this guy in a heartbeat and wouldn't even think twice. 7 to 8 mil per year with escalating incentives for "performance". Imagine that. Getting paid to go above and beyon.... What a concept.....

did you just see what guys were getting paid on the open market? his gravy train is in no jeopardy whatsoever. dude has clearly been rattled by the echo chamber, and seems like he wants to do something about it. the reality is are we really going to harp on a guy for taking steps to improve the area we criticize him the most for?

I don't think that's the issue. I think the fact that Dez has waited until the fans have brought tar, feathers and pitchforks to the the party to START working on his route running is too little too late for many fans. And rightly so.
Good thing that's not the case.

Yeah I think with a full training camp of getting used to it he could really become one of the better at it.

He's got to stay healthy and keep his head in the game. Be a leader too. I hope we give him some WR help. That would add a better dimension IMO.

Wah

I would pay to watch anyone in the forums try to cover him full contact
That's like saying you'd pay to watch anyone in the forums try to pitch to a MLB player or cover an NBA players one on one... You must not like your money.

How many people read the article? I can tell that some of these posts are from people who just don't like 88.. Maybe you liked him before and now it's different.

I'm just as frustrated as the next fan, but if the team only asks him to run certain routes(2) that's misuse of the talent. The offensive coordinators are know to be somewhat inept so i'd start there first!!! I'm hoping that they are forced to get more creative. W'ell see...
