Well ok. You just wrote what I did in far fewer words. Well done.Money would not be an issue. Revis has 6 million guaranteed coming from the Jets and/or whatever team signs him. Team xyz can sign him for peanuts guaranteed and then add on incentives if needed on a per game basis.
This doesn't make sense however player-wise, unless the team has completely soured on Carroll or definitely plans to trade/release Scandrick.
Dez's tweet definitely would make one think something is in the works so we'll see.
please say this again for the poster who keeps arguing he loses $6 M if he signs elsewhere. He gets $6M no matter what. If Cowboys signed him for the league minimum, the Jets owe him the difference up to that $6M.The Jets, who cut Revis in March, still owe him $6 million in guaranteed money, which they’ll have to pay him unless he signs a more lucrative contract with another team. If he signs a $1 million deal, for example, New York must pay him $5 million this season. This setup could entice a team to take a chance on the aging star if he agrees to sign for less than he is accustomed to making.

I keep seeing lots of "he's better than Scandrick" posts in this thread.
No way. I'd take a healthy OScan over Revis in a NY minute.
Want more DB help just draft it next spring.
The Jets were a team in turmoil last season. Anyone evaluating Revis for playing the way he did, on that team last year, should consider that fact.Granted, I haven't seen Revis play much lately, I don't understand how he goes from the best corner in the league 2-3 years ago to the bum a lot of people say he is now. He's only 31, almost 32. Is he just slow now?
I like our young guys also, well I think i will, but the type of vet experience and the things he could teach our youngsters on the field and in the meeting rooms could be very valuable. At the right price, this would be a great pick up.
So then what exactly is his incentive to play ?please say this again for the poster who keeps arguing he loses $6 M if he signs elsewhere. He gets $6M no matter what. If Cowboys signed him for the league minimum, the Jets owe him the difference up to that $6M.
Highly plausible and possible! After mulling this over all weekend me thinks Dez is just pulling a Michael Irving here, it's the off season and we need to piss off the current dbs and make them try to shut Dez down in practice all while creating a buzz in the Big D.
I wouldn't mind him but I don't want to cut one of the four young guys we have on contract for the next 3+ years for him.
I would take him over Carroll and probably even Scandrick though.
Its Bryants final year of guaranteed money. Nothing more than that. Its his final shot at ole Jerry boys money. He is done in Dallas after this year.Highly plausible and possible!
That last link @LocimusPrime posted indicated he ( revis)was riding off into the sunset.
After first reading that Dez twitter, it screamed trouble with the rookie defensive backfield to me, and Dez was in panic mode
But I pushed that thought back down and read what other forum members had to say,,, he would bring the old school moxie along with him if he did show up.
Well,I reckon he'd best come to play every game this season ,showing MR.JONES his gratitude and unwavering loyalty, huh?Its Bryants final year of guaranteed money. Nothing more than that. Its his final shot at ole Jerry boys money. He is done in Dallas after this year.
