That's a distinct possibility. The team has definitely held off on restructuring him to keep its options open. Almost every other similar contract the Cowboys have done has been restructured.

We have to consider that the Cowboys know things that we don't. They may have refused to restructure Dez because of things unrelated to his play.

Dez may be more of a headache behind the scenes than we are aware. It's not far fetched based on his prior issues.
It is a distinct possibility. It is odd to think of a Cowboys team without Dez, Witten and of course Romo is already gone.

There will be a day it happens. Witten's skills suck but he has been able to somewhat get by based on his intelligence. Dez isn't a tactician or a technical perfectionist so his shelf life might be a lot shorter.

That's what is keeping Witten on the field. No dout he's lost a step and cant get the extra yards. But his in-game observance is invaluable. On the big play agains the Skins to Twill for a 40 yarder, it was Witten (who was audibled into the backfield) he came up and yelled, even even took a few steps toward him and physically waived to Twill, to move up on the line. Instead of an illegal formation, it was a 40 yard pass on a deep inrout.

Can you imagine Dez doing something like that? I personally can't. His contribution to the brain trust is pretty much "hey I'm open" or "I only have two targets so far" in case someone may have missed it.

I can tell you don't follow me closely. I bash Witten pretty often. I'm on the Witten's better days are behind him and he is making too much ******* money band wagon.

No team would take his contract if you gave him away.

You would have to offer to give the other team a 1st to get them to take him and you still might not find any takers.
You say some dumb anti-Dez things but this is the dumbest....... sorry he kicked your dog but let it go

A dozen teams would take Dez Bryant at 2/25m with no gtd money

You obviously think a lot more of Dez here than some do.

Dez is going nowhere ......fans tend to forget the countless hours and resources invested in him as the player AND young man we see today. Despite a few fans carrying strange vendetta, the FO/team love him. You could hear that in Romo's voice..........

Yeah when you have to hire someone a full time baby sitter you don't want to waste that.

Onthe particular play I referenced, Dez was lined up, on the line on the opposite side of the field. It was Witten, who was motioned in the backfield. It was Witten who noticed the Illegal formation of Twill, the WR who didn't move up to the line. Dez was irrelavant as he was lined up (correctly) on the opposite side.

I didn't say Dez was relevant to the play of he should have mentioned it, in that particular instance. I am just saying I can't imagine Dez having the mental acuity to do something like that.

No team would take his contract.

That is not hyperbole or obsession.
That is nonsense......he is due 2/25m with 0m gtd

Desean Jackson, Keenan Allen and E Sanders all signed similar deals this year and none are as good or desired as Dez

NE, BAL, SEA, LAR, MINN, DET, WAS, PHI would all sign him in a heartbeat

Bull ......... you are full of it and your gimmicky "I hate Dez" crap is obsession.
I might push the limit on some Dez issues but other teams really wouldn't take his contract.

Would a team take Crawford at 9M per?

A team could likely get Larry Fitzgerald for 1 year at less than what Dez will make in 2018 and Larry even at his age is a better option. Larry does not limitations on where the ball has to be placed in order to catch it.

Dez 38 of 85

Fitzgerald 50 of 74

There are 32 teams and you came up with one example

Teams are flush with cap space that they have to spend
