What’s impressive about Owens stats is that he put up those numbers at the age Dez is now. If I had to choose I would go with the younger guy Dez, but if I had to choose between 25 yr old Dez and a 25 yr old Owens it would be Owens all day.

Owens. I felt like he couldn't be stopped. I became a huge fan of TO when he came here. It was also one of my happiest Cowboy fan moments when we signed him.

i was thinking about how awesome the dez-romo back shoulder throws were, and how good romo was at it.

Then I started thinking about how much I enjoyed romo throwing to T.O. I loved it because romo would drop back, you would see him launch it, the camera would change, and Owens was wide open. It was smooth.

Owens played 3 years and dez had 3 good years. Which receiver did you enjoy more? I thought Owens was more fun to watch.

Terrell Owens
2006 85rec 1180 yards 13 td's
2007 81 1355 15
2008 69 1052 10

Dez Bryant
2012 92rec 1382 yards 12 td's
2013 93 1233 12
2014 88 1320 16

There is no debate what so ever. TO was by far and away the better receiver.

1 is a hall of famer. The other guy is an Instagram personality. TO did it better, longer.

Owens was a superior receiver. Like him or not, he deserves to be in the hof. Dez's specialty was the contested ball. Meaning not open but able to outfight the defender for the ball. Unfortunately, landings in these instances injure backs, feet, knees and necks. All of which broke him down.

Dez could've been as good as Owens at being a catch and run receiver. He's just as tough to bring down as any receiver I've seen including Owens but the Cowboys coaching staff didn't use him that way.

They were both great in their primes, I always got the feeling though that with TO, it was only a matter of time before he was ringing up the scoreboard. I know the numbers are what they are but just felt like TO was more dominant a lot of the time. Also, TO is first ballot HOFer, Dez is probably not a HOFer.
Dez def made more spectacular highlight reel plays, largely because he got little separation while TO was often running open because of his routes.

Anyone that says Dez > T.O. should be hunted down and sterilized so they can no longer breed & multiply. T.O. is a hall of famer while Dez is a bum, lucky to have a contract with the Saints. Scrubs like that shouldn't even get a second chance.:D

T.O. was initially a more complete player than Dez ever was, especially in the route running department. But once he couldn't beat press coverage he was "done".

On the other hand TO was the worst form of malignant cancer. Dez was simply a simpleton. So in this Dez vs. TO debate I would say TO was a better player over his career but I would take Dez over him simply because TO was the worst of the worst in dividing the locker room, intentionally.

Wow looking at the yards, it would seem Dez. But maybe the game had changed a lot between the time Dez and Owens played. Owens is in the same tier as Randy Moss, their stats are pretty similar. Personal, if Miles didn't have those hamstring problems, I think he could've been a better receiver for us than both of those years. When Owens left I was all doom and gloom but Miles exploding onto the scene made me forget owens.

Yes but miles was a lot like a horse. He ran like a horse and come to think of it looking at him his teeth look a lot like a horse.

Imagine them both at the same age.

Now consider the fact that Owens was 33-35 during his time here, was named first team all pro, caught 35 TDs, and put up well over 3000 yards.

Dez is 3 years younger TODAY than Owens was when he began his Cowboys career and look at him.

Dez is only a legend in his own mind.

TO might have been a locker room cancer (with several teams), but the dude could BALL. He definitely deserves to be in the HoF for his ability to play. Of course, his off-the-field behavior with teams might prevent that....politics.

I wouldn't let him in the HOF because he was such a cancer.

Dude danced on the Star! Couldn't tolerate his actions in a 49'er uniform or Cowboy uniform. Laughed my arse off when he went to Philly. I don't think Dez ever threatened suicide when his GF dumped him either. I don't care how TO's stats rank. As a person? Dez was real, TO a fool and they're both going to spend way more time being people than football players.
