Chicago's Brandon Marshall signed a three-year, $30 million extension last week that made him the seventh wide receiver that has a contract with an average annual value of at least $10 million, joining Detroit's Calvin Johnson, Arizona's Larry Fitzgerald, Seattle's Percy Harvin, Miami's Mike Wallace, Kansas City's Dwayne Bowe and Tampa Bay's Vincent Jackson.

I love Dez, but I have strong opinions on the WR position. The only player on this list that has realistically competed for a superbowl was Percy Harvin, and while he was definitely a factor in that game, clearly he was no factor in getting to the playoffs and Seattle was alright without him.

I want Dez to be on this team, but I do not believe that an individual WR is a key position in playoff success.

Love Dez but I'm not big on giving crazy money to wide receivers. Want him back but scared at the deal if it happens.

Oh no ... this only means we're going to restructure Tony Romo's contract. Romo's money is going to get pushed into 2020.

I'm not against paying the man. He's more that proven to be a top 10 WR. But we are strapped for cash and we have a few deals that need done.

Is this shocking to anyone? He's coming to the end of his existing deal and he was going to get a big pay raise......... from someone, if not from us.

I really do think he is fantastic, and I hope we can find a deal that works. But Tyron is clearly a higher priority to retain over the next half decade, not to mention the money already tied up in QB and depending on this year RB.

I think we keep him, but I hope it is structured in a way that the CAP doesn't suffer.

I think Dallas should get him resigned. Having said that Dez ranked 13th and I would pay him accordingly with added incentives. I know in the 90's when Irvin wanted to be paid like Jerry Rice, Jerry Jones told him to produce like Jerry Rice and you will be paid like Jerry Rice. Mike did that and Jerry followed up with paying him as such.

"Yeah, I deserve it," Bryant told ESPNDallas.com. "I deserve it. I feel like I do. I put the work in, but I let that kind of stuff take care of itself. It is what it is. I let my agent talk about it and give me some feedback."

You're damn right you deserve it Dez, unlike Glass Man you have actually played all 16 games the last 2 years and have only missed 4 games in your career.

He did use the words, "hometown discount" but folks shouldn't take that to mean he's only gonna want a bare bones deal..

Besides he's earned his big pay raise.

only 1 WR deserves 10 mil in the NFL.

Love Dez but you do not need big time, big paid WRs to win. Calvin Johnson is easily the best and he hasn't even sniffed one single playoff win, much less a Super Bowl. Dez has not even been to the playoffs at all. Whether or not that has anything to do with him is another issue. But we have more pressing needs than WR. Especially breaking the bank for one.

Concerns for me is he seems to drop the ball more than I'd like and it's not difficult to take him out of the game.

Would not be opposed to signing him to an extension but I would not go overboard.

Love Dez, but they will really have to think this one through.

For different reasons, you probably shouldn't overpay for WRs and RBs.
RBs--for reasons we all understand
WRs--because there are now 3 or more out there at a time plus the ever evolving TE hybrids.

But Dez is pretty unique, even if he does have some flaws.

Seahawks paid him. Percy Harvin signed a 6 year / $64.25 million contract with the Seattle Seahawks, including a $12,000,000 signing bonus, $14,500,000 guaranteed, and an annual average salary of $10,707,500.

Calvin Johnson is the highest paid WR in the league

My view: WRs -- even the very best at their position -- are too easy to game plan out as a major factor. Even Jerry Rice wouldn't have been Jerry Rice without a strong West Coast offense to plug into. Worth premium dollars but not super-premium cap-space-crippling dollars.

This isn't a surprise. We've known for a couple of years Dez should get his money and now the bill is due. It seems the off the field stuff is behind him now and no one should question his heart or desire. Pay the man and move on.

I'm not even on the same page as you.
