Receptions: 67 (13th)
Yards: 952 (10th)
YPC: 14.2 (36th)
TDs: 10 (3rd)
20+ yard receiptions: 14 (12th)
YAC: 294 (31st)

He's having a solid year, but no where near what he is asking for. I've seen people on the board say he is the #2 WR behind Calvin Johnson, but I don't see it. Do these stats surprise you?

He is not as good as he was two years ago.

Great player, too many drops and he is unable to get much seperation due to his average abilty to run routes.

Difficult to say Cyberbob. It's a run heavy offense this season.

His stats, overall, aren't what I thought they would be, however, I think it's worth asking "What if you plopped Dez into Jordy Nelson's spot on GB. What would his stats look like then?"

I guess that's my way of saying "I think Dez could be an absolute monster playing for a high flying offense".

What's it going to be then, eh?

I think he is being doubled, bracketed and pressed a lot more this season. Just speculation. I also think his route diversity has diminished.

The guy is getting press coverage, a safety over the top, and a LB/slot cb on the inside. His numbers are fantastic considering how much effort teams put into stopping him.

I've come to the recent opinion that the Cowboy's lack of consistent production from WR#2 and WR#3 is hurting the offense overall as well as hurting Dez specifically. You need to make teams pay for doubling WR#1, especially considering the Cowboys have a RB on pace for almost 2000 yards, and that's not happening.

He needs some help. If the other WR(s) could take advantage of the single coverage it would help out a lot and you will see his # increase. Also take into account he had Weed throwing to him for a game and it was terrible.

I think it's the routes. Every year we blamed the #2 receiver. Most teams end up adjusting to the fast starts of guys like Miles Austin and Terrance Williams. I would add Roy Williams, but he sucked overall. Patrick Crayton was decent, but this offense also stalled and the blame was him, which is what brought Roy Williams here in the first place. They use to say teams needed to pay for doubling TO... And TO would say this offense wasn't doing things to get him open, such as moving him around or throwing to him from the slot.

Some creativity in the passing game - anywhere - would help all of the WRs. There's no motion, no rub/pick plays, nothing quick. Nothing over the middle. This offensive scheme just makes everything so difficult for the passing game.

I'd think most every coordinator in the game would be drooling at the thought of a top 5 QB, top 5 WR, HOF TE and the best OL in the league. Yet, for some reason, Linne/JG can't get anything done. It's pretty pathetic really.

Do we ever see WRs just running free in this offense in a game because of scheme? When we do, it's often because of Romo just buying time with his feet and free-wheeling by WRs. I remember the Denver game last year when Dez was killing off the short drag route across the middle of the field, but we seem, at least from perception, to have pretty much disregarded it.

Hes doing better than I thought but I wouldnt pay him top 5 money. Especially when this is a run offense. People say the scheme doesnt get our wrs open so why have 110 mil into a wr dump that into the defense.

Sorry, but they aren't triple teaming him. At most, they have a safety over the top, but a lot of teams do that anyways. You think Calvin Johnson, AJ Green, Julio Jones, or any other top receiver doesn't see the same type of coverage?

I would blame Linny to, but he's working with the passing game and it hasn't changed. I think that's why there was the rift overall between Cal;ahan and Garrett, because Callahan is a WC guy. I think Callahan wanted to make significant changes. Jerry Jones even alluded to this when Linehan was hired saying it wasn't fair to Callahan to have him call plays in an offense that is not his, when mentioned how Garrett kept trying to get his hands on the offense. And Jerry mentioned Linehan allowing them to keep the terminology but target the best players in the offense.

The problem with extending Garrett is, Romo. If Romo doesn't outlast Garrett, can we say this team will look bright, considering our QB play without him and what we have done to try and find a decent back up.

Extremely vanilla play calling, bad overall route designs, and a qb who is struggling to throw the deep ball due to injuries is what's wrong with Dez's stats.

This team has a lot of problems, Dez isn't one of them. Why people on this board keep focusing on him in a negative way is honestly mind boggling to me.

If Dez is an elite WR, he's supposed to beat that coverage.

I do think a lot of the blame goes to the scheme and play calling though.
