Dez is an excellent player, but he's a limited player, too.

Very average route runner, not particularly fast, unpredictable hands. Makes some great plays, doesn't make some easy ones.

He's incredibly physical, which is his identity, but there are many holes.

Dallas is smart not to overpay him.

Somebody name the last "elite" receiver to win a Super Bowl.

Nobody has called Dez the best WR in football. But after Calvin he is in the conversation. And that's the point.

But don't let hyperbole get in the way if making a point!

Apparently Dez thinks he is higher in the conversation than Dallas does.................Steven Jones has said that "we have offered Dez some very nice contracts".

Apparently Dez didn't think they were so nice.

Terrance Williams is the one who is surprising me at this point.

I agree. Don't want to turn this into a TWill bashing thread but the #2 WR should be running amuck in this offense. Teams are often playing 8 in the box and shading the pass coverage to Dez's side. TWill simply can't run away from man coverage. I said in another thread...if Dez, TWill and Beasley are your 3 WRs, the team desperately needs another WR, perhaps a better #2 who can run away and defeat man-coverage with the ability to run routes.

I think part of the issue is that T.Williams isn't very good. Nobody is scared of him at all. Teams focus most of their attention on Dez and Witten and Williams can't get open. He has been largely nonexistent since the catch in Seattle. To those bringing up Jordy Nelson, let's see Dez with Randall Cobb opposite of him(not a slight on Jordy at all, more of a statement of how much better the other WR in GB is than in Dallas. If you put Randall Cobb on our offense, we'd see a lot more 1 on 1 opportunities bc they wouldn't double team Dez as much as they currently do)

He should be running wild on teams with the amount of attention those two see. I am not sold on Williams, I think we should seriously consider looking for an upgrade there. Just my 2 cents.

You mentioned Cobbs playing opposite of Dez, but how about having Aaron Rodgers as his QB? Tony's back issue and lack of practice is affecting his throws. Dez would have more yards with a healthier Romo or another great QB.

Let us be ever clear on this:

Dez half potential to be great.

But so far he half been mostly talk and when one looks at his stats, they are just above average.
No way close to the 2,000-yard year he once said he would half.

Dez is a power guy and not a quick/speed guy. It boggles my mind why we have him run routes where he has to stop and get going again majority of the time. He should be running routes where we get the ball to him while he is moving.

Guys like Dez who aren't quck require more time to stop and get going again but he is so powerful that once he is moving, he is almost impossible to stop by one guy.

He's as fast as Jordy Nelson, who looks a lot faster because GB finds ways to get him open , and hit him on the run...

Agree on the affect of Tonys throws. Watching Brady & Rodger their passes have lots of zip, and are right on target.

Tony can do that, but being hurt his passes seem to be "aimed " rather than " thrown" due to his injury.

YPC (36th) is a huge concern on several different levels.

I'd like to see what he would put up in the Denver...

I'll take the W's over the big glamarous stats all day everyday, same with Romo. I mean we know Dez is helluva player and he's a top 5 WR in the league, so it's really not about producing the big eye popping stats in my opinion. He's already proved he can do it, but right now running the offense through Dez isn't the best thing for this team. Sure he could put up 1600 yards, and 16 TDs probably, but it's not needed (or even the best option for winning) when you've got a stout offensive line and running game that not only scores points, but it can keep your defense off the field.

Nelson is a beast no doubt, but I'm sure it doesn't hurt having arguably the best QB in the game today. I know he's not talked much among other 'elite' WRs like CJ, Dez, AJ, Julio, but I'd take Antonio Brown over anyone not named CJ right now.

If We lose Dez, hopefully he goes to a real team/ a team that is not scared to throw the ball and is actually creative, like the Pats, Colts or hell even the Eagles. Then you will see what type of stats he puts up, and the success they have.

Then we will see who gets the blame next.

Eagles?! Dang are you sipping on that kool-aid, also big stats don't always mean team success, just look at Detroit since CJ has been there.

Um, people realize we're 28th in pass attempts this season, right?

As a percentage of our pass attempts, Dez has a higher number of receptions, yards and touchdowns than he has had in any other season of his career, and his YPC is higher than his career average.

He's being targeted on a higher percentage of our passes than before, but his catches and yards per target are both right about his career average, and his touchdowns per target is the highest of his career.

Sorry, but they aren't triple teaming him. At most, they have a safety over the top, but a lot of teams do that anyways. You think Calvin Johnson, AJ Green, Julio Jones, or any other top receiver doesn't see the same type of coverage?

Do you mean the Julio Jones that torched Patrick Peterson yesterday?? I thought so.

Some people on here make me want to see that scenario badly.

Same here. It would suck, but I would have fun laughing at this fan base/ the majority who does not care if we pay him. They would see how fast we turn to ****, while Dez has a real chance at a ring, and has success.

What would be best if we went to Eagles. Everyone here would go ape ****, while they rape us. Then proceed to blaming Jerry for letting him walk.

Maybe not.

They are hard to beat when they really get him involved though. If they had our O-Line, they would dominate.

Instead of trying to piggyback off of a guy like Murray, who is not our biggest weapon, we need to find creative ways to get Dez the ball.

When we were bad, Dez always showed up. Murray? Not so much, thus why he isn't our biggest weapon.
