I was actually kidding... Just a play on the OP saying that Irvin and Kevin had disdain in his voice.

from Newy Scruggs
I knew that, but I figured I would admit that Irvin didn't just get that out of nowhere.(when he mentioned Newman's tone) If Irvin didn't say anything about that though, I don't think there would have been any complaints.

Amazing how some people will throw an Pro Bowl player under the bus who has spilled his blood and guts on the field for the Cowboys to come to the defense some scumbag who's never played a down for the Cowboys.

I wish I could say I'm surprised. Its the society we live in I guess. People would cheer and defend OJ if he could still rush for 2000 yards for their team.

Why stop there? Perhaps you could compare him to Hitler too. Hes probably the most villianized person in western society and thats probably better for shock effect.

People would cheer and defend Hitler if he could still rush for 2000 yards for their team. Has a nice ring doesn't it?

Actually you could just go with the devil. it would go better with the blood spilling theme you have going for Newman.

Amazing how some people place themselves up on some pretend pedastal ala Moses to talk down to folks who are just sharing an opinion about football.

I listen in online to 103.3 and only caught the tail end of the interview...Irvin and his cohost Kevin said after the interview that there was some disdain in Newman's voice about having Pacman on the team...Just wondering if anyone had a recap of the interview

Thats an opinion from Irvin.

i'm sure newman is a bit tired of hearing about pacman. and i'm sure that is what is reflected in his tone. i think team business should stay in the locker room but when someone ask you a question you kinda have to answer and these guys are'nt politicians so they are'nt good at answering questions and not saying anything.
i think the ball is in pacman's court. repsect is earned and he has to come in and earn it. if he comes in and does well by staying out of trouble and performs the team will accept him. everyone wants to win, and if he can help the team win they will accept him but he has'nt really earned automatic acceptance

Seriously, go with the devil. Just nail Newman right on up there with the spilling blood and then you can paint Adam "Satan" Jones coming in and destroying souls. Throw in a bit of fire, a boiling lake you know the drill.

It will be great.

I doubt TNew is worried that this will keep him from his payday. He knows that even if his payday doesn't come in Dallas someone is going to pay him big money to play for them.

Some how I just doubt any problems he has with this have anything, at all, to do with whether he'll get paid.

Inman's biggest fear is being realized...

People might actually like Pacman, which could deter from the slurping of Newman....

To me, it's not about people liking Pacman over Newman.

My issue with a few of the posts is based on extreme overreactions to a blurb alluding to Newman's attitude, based on no evidence. And then when recaps or observations were posted later about what he actually said, then all you hear is crickets.

We ALL hopes he turns it up! But at that point you have to wonder "Why in the hell haven't you been playing like this the whole time?!" "Would it have made a difference in the Playoffs?", etc. People can spin my comments into a "hate Newman" spin all they want. I was very clear in my first post. If it's not comprehensive enough for some then I suggest continued education.

I've already stated in he first post, I'll be stoked when/if Newman is re-signed.

he has been...he's been good here since the day he set foot off the plane from Kansas St...he's been jobbed out of two pro bowls, and made it last yr

the guys one of the top 2 or 3 cover CB's in the league...and unlike alot of other CB's, he doesnt tackle like a pansy either...on top of the fact that he plays hurt and is a great leader in the lockerroom

IR was just sharing his opinion, too.

Is it not okay to be critical of a poster's opinion?

And WG nailed it. People started bashing someone based on nothing but hearsay. Why is that?

You nailed me. I just lay in bed at night wonder if people are going to like PacMan.

If someone prefers a guy who has been arrested 6 times and is involved in a strip club shooting which causes a guy lifetime paralysis over a Pro Bowl player who has never gets in trouble and is the hardest worker on the team (according to coaches) ... that's a reflection of them. Not me.

Sounds like I hit a little too close to home.

Hey, I'm just copying what you did.

I got on my high horse. I waited for a response. Then I say "looks like I hit too close to home."

Yeah, I'm real holy roller with my kooky "I don't like cheering for people who are involved in stripclub shootings which leave people permanently paralyzed for the rest of their lives just because they wear my favorite color of laundry" schtick.
