What he say?

He said they ( the D Line ) is trying to get by on pure athleticism it takes more then that, he said guys just want to be their and not do extra film study or extra work after practice. He said he tells Gregory something but Gregory comes across like I think I should do it like this kind of attitude again Zone family that's how I interpreted the interview

I am not shocked... Kid has gotten by just on his natural talent...

All rookies will now realize that will not be the case on this level if they want to be good or great

Same here. He was critical of the lack of film study and extra work the young guys want to do. It was a very honest interview from Charles.

Welp athleticism hasnt been helping Gregory do a thing with Tyron Smith. Charles may be wacky but he knows how to rush the passer.

RS12 he said Gregory needs to find TS weakness and attack it Norm asked what is TS weakness Haley said TS is weak when he has to deal with double moves

Zoners: what he said is exactly what these rookies need to hear. If he said gregory is a future star, the kid might not get that he has alot of work to put in to get there.

I mean is anyone actually surprised that Gregory is headstrong and somewhat conceded and ignores advice? This is a guy who did not care about going to meetings with teams he scheduled before the draft. All of his personal quirks aside, you have to understand the millennial generation and they are not going to try to conform easily. I think a guy like him has people always ready to appease him on his whim, it might be a few years before he tries to change his attitude even in the slightest.

To give an example, anyone remember that play when the Raiders played the Chiefs last year and the two young dudes celebrated a sack? It was Khalil Mack and Sio Moore after Mack's sack just completely oblivious of their surroundings and celebrating when Alex Smith gets up and quickly calls a snap, and then Tuck sees it and immediately calls a time out. Boy was Tuck feeling that generational gap then.

Personally it is hard for me to understand this generation, I am barely outside of it, I mean 3 years outside, but I read all the time of their behavior some you can say is nice they are always willing to stand on their own and try to be independent, sometimes it seems like a huge headache for drama's sake.

Haley was an all pro five time world champion and now a hall of famer.
When you are that special, we mere humans will look average to you.

I think this generation has a little since of entitlement and some of that is due to advancement in technology. We get instant gratification now through the Internet. I mean my daughters asked me the other day if I had the Internet when I was their age. I told them no. They then asked how I did research papers for school. I told them I used the library in which they replied,"Oh we have one of them at school."

Great observation.

Millennials are very different cats. I'm around them all the time and GENERALLY -- As a group, non religious, everything has to be proven, don't trust banks, feel Boomers (me) climbed the corporate ladder and pulled it up behind them, poor social skills due to smart phones (they hate even talking on the phone), don't take criticism well and enjoy criticizing others but not in person and very pessimistic about their future with staggering social and technological changes coming in the next ten years (to their credit - much of it coming from them).

Now, I'm not sure this all applies to Gregory and you can't put a box around everybody (as I would not to all Millenials here on the boards) but all of us are products of our environment and upbringing.

It sounds strange but there use to be a guy who hosted a technology show I watched, and he IS a millennial, he summed it up nice like 10 years ago by saying, "I think it is an over-stimulation of giving the youth too many options". In other words they only know the complication of what they want and how they want it with millions of options in technology and then they emulate that same type of philosophy, for lack of a better term, in their day to day personal relationships- IRL. Somehow the whole thing gets conflated and it becomes something of a curse more than a convenience.
