It's not like he would have tried harder if he would have known it was fourth down. The guy tried hard enough as it is.

The better question would be, why is Romo always having to tell receivers where to go before every play? Shouldn't they be able to figure out what side they are supposed to be on by now?

Say what you will about Romo, but it seems like he is doing way too much in between plays.

This team frequently doesn't even get set until there's only 7 or 8 seconds on the playclock.

Either our players are idiots trying to figure out the call, or the guy making the call is taking forever to make a decision. Either way, I think it adds to the chaos that is already Tony Romo.

I think it is a combination of both...along with the few seconds devoted to scanning the field for yellow laundry.

It looks to me like Martellus Bennett is constantly having to be told where to go. And plenty of other guys were getting directed too.

This is just a poorly coached football team, in almost every regard. Some say we have a lot of talent, some say we don't, but I've come to the conclusion (if this is actually a conclusion) that we don't really have any idea how empty (or full) the cupboard is with Jerry's clowns running the show.

...or perhaps we have a football team that just isn't very intelligent.

my question though would be, why spike it on second down anyway, why not just run the play and not give the Broncos a chance to set up.

That would require calling two plays on first down. Our guys can barely line up correctly within five seconds of hearing a play, and you expect them to line up correctly for the play AFTER that play, too, with the clocking winding down?

lol, true and that probably would have ended up with Flotell's normal procedure penalty and a ten second run off.

Coming to a tv set near you, an exhilarating tale of youthful ignorance of football, The Endless Set of Downs, starring Tony Romo. Watch as our quarterback nonchalantly wastes time and opportunities and then wears his cap backwards on the sideline. Watch as he inspires confidence in our wide receivers and running backs. Watch has he blows more games.:bang2:

Sad as it sounds, he is the only player on the field who seems to know where everyone is supposed to line up. Imagine if he didn't. I don't get it. How can these guys be consistently clueless on which side of the field they are supposed to be on? Why does Romo have to waste 5 to 7 seconds on each play telling guys where to go? Why doesn't the brilliant media ask Wade why this keeps happening?

I just went to profootballcrap.com because I wanted to see if that idiot had this story yet.

and he did.

and he came to the conclusion that no franchise qb has ever made this mistake and thus in profootballcraps eyes Romo will not be considered a franchise quarterback anymore.

This kind of stuff really makes me mad. Where does this hillbilly get off saying things like this? I really hate that a dope like that is affiliated with a major network in nbc.

It will be all over espn by the morning and now romo will have to deal with more crap from stupid people.

One thing that keeps bothering me about those last 2 plays. Romo keeps saying the read was to go at Bailey. I am assuming the read was there because Bailey was alone on that side of the field.

What I dont get is why not move Crayton or Austin to the slot on the bottom of the field and try to isolate Goodman at the top instead of isolating Bailey at the bottom? Wouldnt that make Romo's read to the top against Goodman instead of the bottom where Bailey is lurking?

Seems like the sort of things Garrett should have figured out by the 4th quarter. 2 pass attempts at Goodman and 13 at Bailey. Nice play designs Garrett.

Yes, no biggie that our QB may have had no clue that the last pass he threw was deciding the game. Seriously who cares that the leader might have done that!

This.

Well I saw the video and it did appear romo held up the three, but it was strange because he was walking off the field when he did it and didnt appear to think they were running another play.

I have no idea why he held up the three fingers.

I am going to record it at 1:30.

I dont think I will put it up though because I know it will somehow end up on sites like profootballcrap and the like and I hate those sites.

It really is odd though, he makes a quick motion like he is saying something to a lineman, while walking off the field with them and then holds up 3 fingers...again while walking off the field....then just screams at himself from frustration.

There is no way he thought it was 3rd down. No way, so I have no idea what those fingers meant.

so true it's laughably funny and completely pathetic.

man up rkell...I've been an cowboys fan since 1978. they are my team but I'm done with Romo...you would be too if you had any sense..........he doesn't have it in him...never has.

Why is it a fan always has to predicated their giving up on the team with "I've been a fan since...." Nobody cares how long you've been a fan and we've all seen "fans" just like you who say "I'm done with X, but I've been a fan since...." as if it gives you some credibility is saying how long you've been a fan.

Instead, it's quite the contrary. You simply fall into that category of people who feel they need to declare how long they've been a fan as if it lends credence to their current emotional state. It doesn't.

If you're done, you're done. Nobody besides yourself gives a rat's diarrhea-slime covered posterior if you give up or not.

Good job, man. I have no doubt that the three fingers meant something else... Who knows, three could've meant something about a line call or a route adjustment. Maybe he was disgusted because that was three times that lineman had made the same mistake.

But leave it to the media to conjure up the most damning possible scenario.

What I am hearing from norm, who is having max morgan on to I guess rail on romo is that he thought it was third down?

whatever, Before he flashed any fingers or anything he was staring at the scoreboard.

SInce he complained in the postgame about wanting the PI on third down, and he was talking to the official while holding up the 3 fingers maybe it was a gripe about the penalty he wanted.
