Diggs soft play was shocking

He is clearly playing with his next contract in mind. Winning is not the priority for him. He is a guaranteed hold out at this point. Would strongly consider trying to trade him. The defense was balling out. Guys like Wilson and Kearse and Armstrong (among others) putting everything on the line. Diggs looked foolish.

May have told him to protect himself, maybe has a small Injury already. He didn't look right
I doubt it. He’s been doing this crap most of the season. Backpedaling and spinning out of the runner’s line of sight to avoid contact instead of planting his feet in the ground and attempting to make a tackle.

On one hand, I think Diggs avoiding contact was pretty obvious, I pointed it out and he just has to tackle much, much better.

On the other, we're not in full possession of the facts. Fans tend to move quickly from punching bag to punching bag and the apathy is infectious. I mean, they keep finding guys at home to come in and try starting the other side (CB), down 2 starts. I'm sure that plays a role. Something to get right for the 9 derrrrrrs.

Let's also enough a fantastic, Brady spanking victory on the road.

Tell me you don't know football without tell me you don't....say "a CB doesn't need to tackle".

Did you see Daron Bland? He is the best CB on the team. I've been a Diggs fan before he was drafted by Dallas and was elated when they got him, but one thing I can't stand is sissy on the field playing defense.

AL Harris has to call him out in front of everybody, that was trash.
Mukumara is going to give Bland a run for his money, dude is a beast

We all know Diggs and know tackling was not his strength.

But it was shocking at times to see him seemingly do as much as he can to avoid it in a game that’s win or go home.

I know it wasn’t a secret about Diggs but man, a guy like Deebo is gonna work him if he’s planning on playing defense just the same.

Love Diggs, we can’t do this without him.
He's got a big payday coming up. He's making business decisions out there.

He had a really bad one down in the redzone too on the play where Kearse was injured. If he fills and tackles properly Kearse probably isn’t even involved.
Yeah he definitely makes the safety’s and other players on the field have to play harder. Tampa thought he was soft. It was play where Evans caught it near he sideline and ran to get out of bound but made sure he got shoulder block on Diggs before he ended the play. I was kinda happy he did that

The most troubling thing I saw with Diggs during the game was his lack of desire making a tackle. He wanted no part of wrapping his arms around someone and tackling them.
Diggs faded this year. PFF had him 48th in the league this year. Our best CB was Bland ranking 24th.

PFF's top 5 in case you were wondering:

1. Sauce Gardner
2. Patrick Suratian II
3. Jalen Ramsey
4. Tyson Campbell
5. Jaire Alexander

I doubt it too, after watching CBs for many years.

But we don't know

Diggs playing conservative like this makes him a consistent and reliable corner. If it's a money gotta have it down i've seen him stick his nose in and tackle. He's good enough where his cover ability makes up for his honestly not great tackling. If it cost us a game i will be right here with you next week.

When the game was no longer in doubt I was fine with his soft tackling…if we lose him then we are in deep trouble going forward. We need him healthy Sunday, not banged up…

hes been a good tackler, he saved the bengals game with his tackle.
Maybe hes hiding an injury? That was so blatant even Sanders would appalled.

That has absolutely nothing to do with backpedalling when you have the ball carriers coming at you and you're consistently avoiding contact. Nobody is asking him to be Troy Polamalu and make some ridiculous bone crushing hits. When you have a ball carrier coming your way, drop your weight and at least attempt to make a form tackle. Period. It was embarrassing last night.

Agreed. He looked bad out there.

In fact, I don’t think he’s looked all that great for some time now. Certainly not up to his own previous standards.
