At this stage really hoping that Nolan and his assistant coaches can light a fire under one of the most disappointing players in 2019, Demarcus Lawrence. He forced a cap hit of 21 million last season and produced 5 sacks on the season? We paid for elite and got trash. 5 sacks, all other top pass rushers in the league even getting double team still produced while Lawrence play was pathetic. He did a lot of jawing during the season yet was never a game changing factor on the season. The man needs to rededicate himself and play to the level of elite

IDK what people expect. The guy had 8 good games in 4 years with us and because of that was talked into elite status.
Now people realize that he is not that great of a player and say that he is a disapointement ?!

This guy is a good run stopper and a good fit at LDE. He is and never was a consistent game changer or an elite player. Dallas got itself in trouble because the Taco pick didnt pan out and DLaw took his chance. And there we are.

DLAW or "D=FLAW" as I call him... was more concerned with 2 things all year. SELLING HIS STUPID HOTBOYZ MERCH, AND RUNNING HIS MOUTH ON TWITTER. Playing football at a high level seemed low on his to do list. I don't want a dude like that on my team. It spreads like a fungus. Jaylon Smith did the same thing. NO ONE HELD THEM ACCOUNTABLE. Jourdain Lewis and Heath/woods actually played better than I thought they would. THE OTHERS STANK. No urgency, no determination..no want to. BAD FUNDAMENTALS, POOR SCHEME..TERRIBLE EXECUTION ON D. Our back 7 needs revamped. Our front 4 needs an overhaul. STARTING WITH DLAW FIRST.

There where 5 or 6 different games this year in which Lawrence got the luxury of being matched up against back-up Right Tackles and he still couldn't make a huge boom this season.
he simply sucked.

DLAW IS MORE GLITZ AND GLAMOUR THAN ACTUAL SUBSTANCE AND RESULTS. The dude has his priorities messed up.

I was one that thought D-Law should have got paid. I was wrong because he was very mediocre this year and then goes on twitter and acts so big.

I would venture to guess except for Quinn the entire defense took a step back last year. But I guess it’s all on the players and the coaching staff *****ing at each other had nothing to do with it.

and that is your choice. Again I don't hate Lawrence but yes I was very disappointed on this past season and hope like hell he comes in 2020 ready to go. Dallas sure as hell can't take the cap hit of releasing him so he is ours and we need him to produce to the level he is capable of. I can't just say gosh he tried real hard, I will say that about players I know are some what limited in ability but I will not say that about a guy that I know is capable of more and yet lays an egg. It was not just sack numbers that were down his tackles are down as well.
:facepalm:I sure hope you make him pay you back the 19mil plus interest so you can recoup YOUR MONEY..

Did everyone's favorite comp Kahil Mack break 10 sacks this year?

How many did Von Miller have?

Asking for a friend...

You can really tell who knows football by the threads and the comments that follow.... Lawrence does not "suck".

1. He was coming off a bad injury that required surgery and a rather long rehab.
2. The interior d-line is damn near devoid of talent. He was getting double and triple teamed.

You can really tell who doesn't know football by the people suggesting he was getting double and triple teamed on any kind of a consistent basis. Lol

How many sacks did each have compared to Tank?

How many pressures did each have compared to him?

Asking for me..

It was a given that he would be limited thia season...he would not get surgery until the contract was done...

This thread is ugly...

Dlaw is a good football player who got paid a huge contract. Dlaw used the only leverage he had, holding out to get paid before having his surgery. If I recall he said he wouldn’t have the surgery without a contract which for the situation was the right move. I’d bet 90% of the people crying in this thread would do the same.

It was pretty obvious he struggled from the rehab and wasn’t as good as he should’ve been. Now we are hearing there was tension with how the front 7 and the backend were being called could also have caused his numbers to drop. I saw an opinion twitter ( I think John Owning ) said that he thought that Quinn got the production because he was just tick faster than Dlaw.

I think there was a lot of frustration on that team due to the coaching chaos that appears to have gone on. Should he have been paid what he got? It’s debatable, but it’s done and it’s his money not anyone else’s after all this is a business.

I’m excited for what new wrinkles this staff is going to bring and I have a hunch Dlaw is going to have an outstanding 2020 season being healthy, able to participate in all the off-season programs and TC.

Hot Noize and some bad Marinara.

That's what we got for that cap charge last season.
