I don't know if I agree with this but that's here nor there. If you can't make the throw, then you don't put it up but honestly, if you read the defense, you should know, before the throw is made, that you have the back open.

It doesn't really matter. If we have to expect Romo to play error free football every time he takes the field, in order to win, then we are doing it wrong. At some point, we have to accept the fact that we must distribute the load and that means adopt a real running game strategy IMO. We can't be all about just throwing the ball and to me, yesterday is a perfect example of that.

Would be nice if the D could also step up and make a stop. I know it's Payton Manning but one stop and we win that game on Sunday. Think about that. Just one stop.

Put some sort of defense in Dallas and it wouldn't matter how sub par our running game is.

I don't think people are conveniently doing that. In fact, I said this early this morning but I think the problem is that regardless of the route, people have a problem with not throwing to the wide open guy in the middle of the field. I mean, that's pretty understandable IMO.
It is very understandable, to the level headed fans. How many posts were made about Romo throwing the check down too often? Then when he opts not to, and forces it, INT.

All of a sudden every one and their mother says he needs to check it down. Get out of here with that people. Romo is here to stay so stop posting about him every INT. If you want every one to know you don't like him post it in your sig and call it a day.

A bunch of other players and coaches have come out and said the same thing today.
And then there's Golic and greenie with the Cincy goes tot eh Super Bowl if Romo is there...though Golic backtracked when they recalled that Cincy is in the AFC and would have to get through Denver.

greenie was the guy saying sanchez and romo were the same qb after the week 1 loss to the jets. i pretty much ignore anything that comes from him.

You must be hallucinating. There were no defenders breaking for the ball, let alone within 4 yards of the play, when Romo decided to throw that pass. Those defenders rotated to the ball after it was thrown.

When was the last time you actually played this game? Grainy still shots are better than a grainy memory, or worse, misinterpretation of the play in real time.

Seriously BAT, give it up. If they still don't understand it, in light of all of the indisputable images, they never will.

Right you are. I gave it a go but should not have bothered. Just did not want Theebs to fight the good fight alone.

I don't know how good a view Romo had of Murray, I also think the 2nd and 16 was the big factor. I think Romo didn't want to be in 3rd and 12. With only one play between keep manning off the field.

Ahh, and there we have the reason behind wanting the check down, it proves some ulterior point about your dislike of the qb.

In the old days I would have made a highlight reel of romo throwing into tight windows to tight ends at the expense of the check down to win or score before the half but I don't do that anymore.

But the mask is off here anyway, no point in continuing talking to you.

If you decide to make that highlight reel make sure it's offered in braille and closed captioning because this group can't seem to see it otherwise.

Simply put: That play is a Cowboy staple but is normally run with Witten and not Esco. I can't count how many times I've seen Romo to Witten with that play over the years. Facts are that Romo was doing exactly what he had done 1000x before but couldn't get any zip on it and didn't put it perfectly in the right spot.

Was Murray open? Yes. Should Romo have checked down. Yes, in hindsight, he should have. Would I have thought the same thing about checking down if the ball was complete? No, I would have never thought about it and neither would have any of you.

Romo is a gunslinger with enough confidence to throw in tight windows. We are NOT good enough to win without taking chances. We need him to step up or we tgo 4-12. Facts are facts. Romo can play the bus driver when there is a bus that can win games without him.....

Oh and just to add, because I forgot last night, but I do believe Tom Jackson also said that Romo could be the QB of his team.

BS. Total BS. Did romo even KNOW Murray was wide open? Even if so, you have a guy that just might either score or at least get within FG distance on THAT play. Romo was worked the last couple of weeks for checking down and now suddenly YOU want him to do that on the biggest play of the game. Total BS.

He has to if he reads the safeties and the LBs drops. He knows every route called and he knows what can be covered, based on what the personnel are doing on the field. If he didn't, then that's a different issue but the info was there for Romo to know who would be open on that route and there was no way Escobar was going to score on that play. There was safety help over the top and two other players around the football when it arrived.

But yeah, it's much better to throw a pick in that situation. Do me favor, don't try to explain to me what you think is BS. Just keep that stuff to yourself. Your only hurting the team Burm.

While that might be true, Romo has said he didn't put the throw where he wanted to. I think he makes the throw without all the backfield interference from the linemen.

He was being a stand up guy for a rookie. The throw despite everything was perfect. Very very poor route and awareness to not stay in between the defender and the ball.

In no way was that directed to you. I know your stance on Romo. I just happened to respond to your post while telling people to shut it.

Understood and I appreciate you clarifying that. Was probably to short with you and for that, you also have my apology Afigueroa22.
