Aren't we in need of some run stoppers ? And wasn't that the concern we all had after the draft ?
Sure looks a little light in the pants ....

Tap the brakes....hopefully he contributes in practice and shows something.
He was an undrafted free agent, and we signed him off a practice squad, meaning KC, who saw him all summer and in training camp, could have signed him themselves but didn't. If he actually ever sees the field this year, maybe he can at least learn to raise him arms at the right time like Hayden.

Good point
Not likely to contribute much this year
This is a guy to develope but has good measurables and certainly work trying to develope him
Minced should be back this week and hardy the next so he's not likely to show much on the field this year
Seems to have the build of a de but played inside. Might can develope into an inside pass rusher. If he gets blocked just stick his hands up lol

Awesome! I wanted Dallas to use a late round pick on him.

Definitely one of my pet cats.

Nice pick-up.

Didn't know anything about him but sure looks like a guy work trying to develope
Maybe they use him this week, Bree's won't be able to see over him lol
If they can develope him physically and most important, mentally could be a guy who can play in this league

Mine too. Wanted him in the 7th. I had to do a double check on my alert when I found out we signed him. Great move by the FO. Sure beats any old fart I had in mind coming in here.

? That means he must be on the roster if he's going to be paid. Not active, but on the 53.

No, they can cut him anytime. They just have to pay him for a minimum of three weeks. The rule is to keep players from losing their spot with 1 team for minimal compensation.

I'm in New Zealand right now, so didn't see last game. Understand several people liked this guy coming out of school - but ... body of a DE not a T. And he's a project.
What about the run stopping DT we don't have. ?

87-3/4" wingspan

It was a big deal that Clowney had an 83" wingspan with 34-1/4" arms.

Tyron with his 36+ inch arms has an 85" wingspan.

The longest that I can remember for an NFL player before this was Danial McCullers the massive 6-7, 350+ DT who had an 87" wingspan.

Coleman on the other hand had the 2nd shortest arms in his draft class for a DLineman (31.75").

Good Stuff as usual X....any idea how long Ed (Too Tall ) Jones' wingspan was? TIA

Kinda agree with your thinking. However, this Sunday night is the last game that Hardy will be suspended. They can kick him inside when he starts playing (5th game of the year) So, it must be the fact they love this kid's upside and athleticism. He sure isn't going to offer too much this year but......time will tell.

Sounds like a perfect 3-4 DE. Where is he playing on this DL? We are short handed at DE. Is the plan to have him play LE and move Lawerence to RE?

I think we'll move him inside like Tyrone Crawford, but he could swing between LE and 3-T.

Still, kind of surprised we picked him up with Hardy and McClain returning next week. Guess maybe we'll try to get Russell to the PS in addition to cutting Moore.

Well it's always a good sign to have another player with a police record of some kind of violence. Whether it domestic or foreign. Kind of our modis operendi as of late. Bring him in and shake up the joint. Let's do this.

OVERVIEW
Charged with domestic assault in November 2013 after an incident with the mother of his child. Was suspended for a game, but charges were dropped two months later. In April 2014, took part in VEISHEA, which was the largest student run festival in the nation, bringing in tens of thousands of visitors to the campus each year. A riot ensued and a picture of Irving in contact with a stop sign made its way onto social media. He was charged with fifth-degree theft, disorderly conduct and criminal mischief. He was dismissed from the team following the incident.

PRO DAY RESULTS
40-yard dash: 4.84 seconds
Vertical jump: 38 inches
Broad jump: 10 feet, 8 inches
Short shuttle: 4.53 seconds
3-cone: 7.27 seconds

ANALYSIS

STRENGTHS (Based on 2013 tape) Has a great frame with room to fill out into much thicker player. Long arms with ability to keep blockers off of him. Does a nice job with his hands, getting quick punch and working to control the line of scrimmage. Moves well down the line and plays off of the guard on stretch plays, looking to leverage the outside shoulder. Operates with quick swim move. Good motor and will pursue down the field.

WEAKNESSES (Based on 2013 tape) Frame is thin for interior line position. Showed some ability to hold up at point of attack, but leverage is a concern on push pocket as pass rusher.

DRAFT PROJECTION Round 5 or 6

SOURCES TELL US "He's got baggage that will have to be combed over but boy does he have talent. Somebody is going to take him." - NFC North scout

BOTTOM LINE Irving's problems off the field are a concern and he's been vocal on social media about his disappointment regarding how things went down at Iowa State. Needs more weight on his frame, but he might have addressed that issue during his time off. Has ability to 2-gap with length and is an intriguing 3-4 defensive end project with draftable talent. Talent and traits give him a shot to hear his name called on Day 3, despite not playing in 2014.

Add this one to the Jason Garrett NSTF (Never See The Field) trade plan.

I have always wanted to move there after working for an Aussie (a company called Fitovers who had relocated to Austin and is still there, with representation still in Australia) who was married to a Kiwi and I... uh... dated her sister for a bit.
Those people are INCREDIBLE. All the stories they tell... How life is different...

It's been years since I worked for them and we still talk like best friends.
I've been fighting for my passport for 13 years since a few certain "incidents" during a hyper-sensitive moment made this issue problematic and it finally looks like I'm about to gain permission to leave this wonderful nation's borders.

New Zealand is FIRST on my list.

Great pickup.....you could always use length especially on FGs. Guy was a 3rd round talent. I just hope we don't waive him next week. Waive LB Smith and maybe put Moore back on practice squad....or even CUT WEEDEN!
