I still can't believe some of the hate dlaw gets around here. Just because he doesn't have elite sack numbers. Guy is always in the tops In the league in pressures (despite having no-one opposite him in the past) and is a great run defender.

Stop the false narrative as he had Quinn across from him in 2019 and still couldn't produce (DLaw 5 sacks Quinn 11.5 sacks). As for pressures, his QB pressures have dropped every season since getting his deal and was paid to be a pass rusher, not a run defender.

DLaw QB pressures rank by year:

2021: N/A due to limited playing time
2020: 40th
2019: 30th (Quinn was 19th)
2018: 13th

So as stated, stats show his pass rushing decline every season since signing his deal.

Bottom line: he is an overpaid DE not producing that which he was paid to do.

Oh, and who does Parsons have opposite him yet he just registered his 10th sack this season in his 12th career game.....just 1.5 sacks LESS than DLaw has had in his last 32 games!!!!!!!

I'll have to go back and watch the game. I missed this amazing performance from Lawrence.

Yeah. His first series he was really good. Then he was just solid the rest of the game. Parsons was amazing. Lawrence was good. Massive difference - and that's not a knock on Lawrence.

Randy Gregory Neville Gallimore, Trysten Hill, Demarcus Lawrence and blitzing from Parsons is going to be the best front this team has fielded in YEARS, though. I look forward to Washington.

Cox is a WLB, we need to draft a starting caliber MLB in rounds 1-3 in 2022.
IMO Cox is the missing starter on this current defense and with him we would be in much better shape because we would never have to drop Parsons into coverage except on an occasional trick zone blitz type rush play and Cox is also super fast and the perfect QB spy type of guy. Neal has been OK but kind of disappointing, I don't think he is brought back. I think the multi seasons worth of injuries kind of nerfed him. Cox's injury is a clean ACL so he should be back at 100% in a few months, obviously won't help this season though.

We could draft another Mike linebacker to replace LVE/Neal, but the era of the slow strong thumper Mike linebacker even in a 3-4 is over. It's a dying breed and for good reason. Those guys are bad in coverage and bad running sideline to sideline against the outside run, and bad against running QBs. Sure if you could find a Rolando McClain type talent go get him, but those are very rare especially these days as colleges train those type of guys to play DE anymore.

He's an excellent player and I can't understand why so many are ready to part ways with him. They need to find a way to resign Gregory and have 90, 94, and 11 creating chaos for the next few years. With Osa and Gally looking like good prospects in the middle, that front 7 is looking formidable.

he's due 27 million this year, and micah and randy would be tremendous bookend DE's. If he's here, he's here, and I think he's a valuable guy. Resource allocation makes it difficult though

I don't think Odighizuwa loses his starting job at three tech, but Gallimore can start at 1T especially if he's gained weight since the injury. Though I'd really like to see a 3-4 with Watkins/Bohanna/Hill rotating at the nose tackle and Lawrence at 5T (Golston/Hill the backups) and Gallimore/Odighizuwa/Hill at 3T and Parsons and Gregory starting on either edge. That would be fantastic. I just wish we had Cox to go with Neal at ILB but we take out one ILB anyway on nickel downs which is majority of the time anyway so we ideally would have

Parsons - Lawrence - Nose - 3T - Gregory
------------Kearse ------------Neal
-Diggs--Lewis-----------------------------AB/Joseph
----------------------------------------------------
-----------Kazee or Hooker-------------------

I'd keep Gallup in favor of honestly.

But I think with the cap increase and a few restructures we can afford to keep Gallup, Gregory, Kearse, Hooker and a few other guys we'd like to keep (Schultz?) without breaking the bank. Almost everyone else is pretty much expendable (LVE, Connor Williams, Kazee, Neal, etc).

I think it's a very healthy rotation. I definitely agree - I was hopeful that by now, Cox would be playing most passing downs over Neal. c'est la vie

It's not that DeMarcus isn't a good player. He is. But he's been too injured over the course of his Cowboy tenure to justify the contract.

I totally expect a man that doesn't respect the sanctity of every life, even his own to not understand the concept of never coveting another man's possessions. Way to demonstrate how your thoughts are so out of line with the ways of Christ. I pray for your soul and wish for an intervention by the ole mighty in your life.

Was that a legit fumble? It looked like it was to me, his arm didn't seem to be going forward yet
As much as I would have liked it to be a fumble, it was not. His arm was going forward. There were enough other sucky calls, but that wasn't one of them. They could have called holding on every other freaking play, but rarely did.
