ITS ALL SPECULATION BY ALL OF US. It was mishandled , we can all agree on that. The optics were much worse than reality of it. But in sports when your a Dallas cowboy, optics are King. THEY MATTER.
True. Much can be questioned and speculated every day of our lives. Take the video for example.
We see a young man. The young man identifies Lawrence. We speculate he has the recognition skills of discerning who Lawrence is and what Lawrence does for a living.
We see a young man wearing sports apparel. We can speculate the young man understands what his clothing represents and comprehends the differing symbolism of his jersey from the one he has seen Lawrence wear.
We can speculate the young man has experienced the sights and sounds of the environment he has been introduced into. He has heard how the dozens of individuals he has come into informal contact have discussed the team belonging to the jersey he wears. He has heard comments made by crowds of folks wearing the jersey of the other team. He has heard jokes, expectations, fears, demands--typical stuff heard at any venue of any sport around the world.
We can speculate the young man believes, in all sincerity, that his earnest request will be granted despite all things he has experienced. And why should he? He has see Lawrence's teammates swap uniforms just like he has seen teammates of his favorite team swap uniforms with the opposing team. Adults do it. Why shouldn't he? It is all good.
...until Lawrence provides him a different perspective of the one world he shares with the player.
I speculate the young man has gained a new and important learning experience that will be beneficial for him in life: "Think before you act."
