A little bit of context.......he signed 4 year, $5.5M contract as a 2nd round rookie. This is all too common with players in all sports, not just the NFL. I hate to say this but a lot can be traced back to how they are raised but for most, it comes down to immaturity vs maturity. Some grow up faster than others........

Look as interesting as this is and it's not new to players in any of the big leagues they go from being relatively poor to becoming rich all of a sudden and don't know how to manage their money..

I have made my opinion clear on the owner GM of this team. But I also have seen how he does take care of his players. Contracts aside.
If Dlaw had gone to him and asked, I have no doubt NGM would have made sure he had excellent financial advice.

These are very young men. It happens whether you're making 65K on a 9-5 on your 1st gig out of college or a millions as a pro athlete. Managing money is not a strong suit for many people especially at that age. The amount of $ doesnt even matter, as we see...

How about no draft? 18 year olds go out and get a job. The NFL is held to the same labor laws as other employers are held to. Is there a problem with that?
