"We feel good about the secondary. The defense is playing well back there. I look at average per attempt and when you are whatever we are, I think fifth in the league, team's are going to start throwing more against you and are going to get more yards. I understand that we're all pulling for our Cowboys and we want them to get the recognition and respect they deserve, but has it occurred to anybody that putting 10 or 15 guys in the Pro-Bowl is not necessarily good for the long-term success of the team?

Flo is a free agent at the end of this year, and he's having a fabulous year, so he definitely deserves it. But his price tag is going up, making the front office's decision harder.

We're probably going to try to extend Newman during the next off-season, do you think a trip to the Pro-Bowl for him is going to cause him to accept less money than Nate Clements got?

I voted once, and I voted for the Cowboys who I thought really deserve to go. Then I spent all my other votes on division rival players, hoping they'd either stick up the franchise when it came time to sign their next contract, or leave via FA. I don't understand the cheerleading and voting over and over again for guys who aren't the best at their position just because they're Cowboys.

Did you catch the highlights of the Falcons game where Harris gave up the TD to Alge Crumpler for their win?

Did you catch the highlights of the Cardinals game where Kennedy gave up the TD to Edge and completely whiffed on a tackle that allowed Fitzgerald take what should have been an 8 yard pass 20 yards for the TD?

I can't stress this enough, if you are going to throw names out there at least watch a game or two or even the highlights to see if they have their warts too. Harris and Kennedy COMBINED have 5 passes defensed. And just looking at last weekends highlights alone I see them giving up TDs, imagine what they have done the rest of the year.

If it's stats, fine, post em. I'll tell you right now there are some (Gibril Wilson) who have better stats this year than Roy. Don't know if that means they're better, though? Would you want Gibril over Roy? I know I wouldn't.

Is it overall impact on the game? Fine. But if that's the case, then I take it you've been scouting multiple games of that players team this year. If not, then are you just going off of "reputation"?

Fact is, we're fans. And while it's good and admirable to be objective... when all else is equal, you root for your guys. I have no problem doing that, but apparently others do.

I agree 100%. I understand this guy has some weaknesses, they all do but to be blasted by Cowboy fans after each and every game is crazy to me. I expect Commanders or Eagles fans to bash Roy not fans of his own team. Am I am not talkin about guys who are critical of Roy, I am talkin about the guys that bash him even when there is evidence he had a good game.

why do think we take him out of his position and play him closer to the line of scrimmage on passing downs?

I take a different perspective on it. I think Roy plays lb in the nickel and dime because Wade is trying to maximize his players' strengths. Roy is so good up around the LOS that Wade is doing the intelligent thing by putting him there. The difference being that Wade is not "protecting" Roy, he's just "maximizing his effectiveness". And maximizing Watkins' effectiveness too.

If it was simply a matter of not trusting Roy in coverage, he would simply replace him with Watkins in the nickle and dime.

Edit: I just read through the rest of the posts and see that this point has already been made several times. It's just not sinking in, though.

Keep voting everyone, make sure to do the entire ballot!

A key to this is only vote the Dallas player....do not vote for any other plaver in the NFC...if it says choose 3, I beleive you can still only choose 1. Do not give any other players a vote, unless it's someone in which may not really make it anyway. Therefore taking votes away from someone like...Favre....

Anyone who watched that pitiful performance that RW put on trying to cover Shockey, and still votes for him to go to the Pro Bowl is beyond logic, and therefore cannot be reasoned with. I have been a Roy Williams fanatic ever since he arrived, but even I can't stand to watch him anymore. We all thought that Hamlin could reign him in, but Williams has read too many of his own press clippings. He refuses to listen to the QB of the secondary, and is constantly out of position.

The commentaters were saying that you don't want to put a SS on Shockey because of his speed. If a 6-0, 230 lb. player can't keep up with a 6-5, 250 lb. player, he should turn in his cleats.

I can give you one SS right off the top of my head that I was praying the Cowboys would grab in FA in 2005 & make him a FS, and that's Darren Sharper. He led the league that year with 9 ints. & 2 TDs. This year, when Minnesota beat Atlanta, Alge Crumpler was 4 for 40 in the loss. In their win against SD, Antonio Gates had a season low 1 for 10 yds. in that loss. I don't know for sure if Sharper was covering both TEs the whole game, but how stupid would you be not to have him there.

I would take Sharper, Wilson, & several other SSs over RW. It's a plain fact-the guy can't cover. Period. When a safety can only do one of the two things that are his responsibility, it doesn't matter how many highlight reel hits he makes. Time to part ways with Mr. One Act.
