The thing is Romo is not overrated.
If anything he is underrated.
After Brady and Manning, Romo should be right there in the discussion with anyone.
The difference is Romo doesn't have a defense where he can go win games 13 to 10 like Big Ben has.
Romo has to make plays all game long. He's forced to because our defense always finds ways to give up points.
Romo is as big of a playmaker as they come at the QB position.
If the defense ever learns how to get off the field on 3rd downs and not give up back breaking plays late in games than we will be in the playoffs, Superbowls, and Romos already franchise record breaking numbers will no longer be deniable.
Well Romo and company could actually help the defense out by not going 3 and out so much and forcing the defense back on the field too soon. The defense played great for the first 3 1/2 quarters against the Ravens, but because the offense failed to convert third downs, the defense got tired and couldn't stop the Ravens.
Mike Tyson had one of the strongest chins in the world but the more he gets tired, the more he gets hit, until he gets knocked out. His only hope was to knock the other guy out first, and when that didn't happen, you knew it was just a matter of time before he went to sleep.
The same applies to the Cowboys; if the team doesn't deliver the knockout blow, eventually the defense will get tired and collapse. This team is not built for endurance and that needs to change, starting with Romo. He needs to become more consistant and be more careful with the football.

I can relate to this post more than any, I think, I've read on this board in a while.
It's silly that you can't be critical of some of Romo's flaws without be called out for thinking he's "trash"and told to go root for another team (ridiculousness at it's finest). Or God forbid you don't post positively in a thread that boasts Romo's statistical similarity to Jesus, himself.
On the other side of the coin, if you aren't 100% on board with the release of Owens, then all of a sudden you hate the Dallas Cowboys and should suddenly align yourself with the Buffalo Bills. Utter absurdity.
The above post is about as level-headed as I've seen on these subjects in a while. Thanks, I appreciated it.
I agree 100%. Great post.

Exactly.
And why is anyone defending Canty anyway. He's now a NY Giant.
Who cares if he says anything that sounds legit. You should still be bashing the crap out of him because it's the right thing to do as a Cowboys Fan!
With that said...

Ummmm, No. That is homerism at it's finest. You can continue living in Neverland if you want. I choose reality. Tell Michael Jackson I said hello.

LET IT GO.
I have.
He is overrated.
He is not underrated.
After Manning and Brady you could talk Carson Palmer, Drew Brees, Matt Hasselbeck before Romo.
Romo doesnt have big defense? Ok thats cool. But when you go 3 and out and keep asking your defense to save it.
Come on.
We had a stretch of 3 or 4 TD's given up four or five games or whatever it was.
I agree 100%.
