Good teams don't get excited about barely beating awful teams.
I'm sure the Super Bowl champion Steelers celebrated barely beating the Lions.

The players shouldn't apologize for the win, but they and especially the coaching staff should apologize for how undisciplined they played. There really is no excuse for the fumbles and in particular the penalties. Just pathetic. I'm very happen we won, but if these things aren't corrected, it won't really matter.

Of course I read it. Asking James if "this could have been a devastating loss" (a sensible query, btw) is hardly the same thing as asking him to apologize for the close outcome. In fact, it's not even close.
Maybe no one directly asked them to apologize. But based on these quotes, no Cowboy player directly said they were not going to apologize.

The apology bit appears to only come from the reporters that are reporting on the story, not the players. So, if it's a "stawman" argument against the reporters, it's funny that only the reporters reference an apology.

Exactly man. It honestly is not that hard.

I've been one of the hardest Dallas critics but at the end of the day you play to win the game... They won and hopefully will learn from the mistakes today.

IF this team showed a history of learning I would agree with you, but it does not, starting with our Owner, GM, HC, OC, DC, Players, going all the way down to the ball boys.

No, this team shows no reason to believe that they will learn from mistakes today. Which sets up for a beat down come atl. Eerily reminiscent of the cinncy game last year. Another time when they did not learn and were all pissing and money because someone dared call them out for it.

So when the refs hands a team a win, do they not chalk it up to a win? Do you get penalized in the SB?

You play to win and you get payed to make the plays. If you win regardless does it matter

I totally agree, but the accountability has to come from 2 people. Jerrah and Wade. The fact that Jerrah was fist pumping and hugging his son in the booth tells me that he's satisfied. Total B.S.

wow, the owner of a team can't celebrate a win? that logic is ridiculous

Brooking deserves to cherish this victory, he had one HECK of a game.

I love that they won and how they won was EXCITING. I am a bit bummed that it came down to OT though. They had their chances on offense and just didn't execute. And I think that's the thing that fans worry about....the potential is obviously there, they can get to the 4yd line! But having to settle for FGs. That's the kind of thing that keeps the opposing team in the game and puts pressure on the defense.

It's like they fight up the hill and get riiight near the top but can't get over it. The potential is there NO DOUBT. With just a little oomph, they put KC away early and cruise.

But, a win is a win... and Washington lost, so .. IT'S A GREAT DAY!!!!!

Totally flying in the emotion of the moment.
Maybe they will wake up to reality in the morning;
they are the worst pass defense in the NFL, they beat a really bad team in OT,
They continually week in week out literally have a penalty every other play (outside of the great play a DB finally made a play 20 Ball penalized for a chump call by a chump ref on 3rd down which almost handed this one in)

Romo is good but not great enough to carry this team. The play calling has been bad for 2 yrs now although #9 puts up phenom numbers.

This team never learns. No one is going to hold them accountable for the way they played this week because they got a win. Play like crap against the worse team in the league, get an eek of a win, forget about playing like crap, fail to improve. This record has been played before. This is why this team will end up 8-8. Until there is some accountabilty (among other things) from these coaches and staff this team will sputter in mediocrity.

Now look, Roy Williams aka UTrunner, just because a real wide receiver who can run routes for Tony Romo, catch the ball, and make touchdowns showed up, don't bloviate about your inability to do it. Work hard and maybe you will learn. Carping is not becoming.

I guarantee you they did, especially towards the end of their highlights, they were quite happy to make the plays that solidified the win.

Just looking at the highlights, they barely won that game and the Lions have the beginning a QB controversy.

Jerry Jones, the guy who demands excellence, is awfully happy with a team who's clearly going downhill. He made excuses about the Denver loss last week and he'll sugar coat a penalty filled, sloppy win this week. A select few in the organization are in charge of looking at the big picture and Jerrah and his good ol' boy Wade are not.

Maybe not as much as them jumping up and down and running around in the highlights on those last couple of drives of the game.

You made a stupid comment. It's okay. It happens to all of us at times. Just give up on it and move along.
