Ah, sarcasm. Zkill's act must be infectious. Considering how poorly they played for large stretches of time against an inferior(?) opponent, I'd say I've been exceedingly generous.
Bless you for your generosity.

I didn't say the mistakes were acceptable. in fact, it makes me incredibly angry. it's just a fact that all teams make mistakes. great rebutle though!

Well if you read my post, i referred to the repeated mistakes. Yes, every team jumps offsides. Does every team jump offsides 4 times in one posession? If so, does the defense come off the field like nothing happened? Not on championship teams.

I hold out hope that the mistakes will stop and the team will get hot and finish the season strong, but based on what i see, it's fading.

They are better than us. Thus our loss to them. I'm sorry the Cowboys aren't as bad as your worries. I really am.

We're a 6 point overtime win better than the worst team in football. Take from that what you will.

you're right in the aspect that it shouldn't happen, but each defender that was called for those penalties loves to anticipate the snap count. a change in that count could throw them off.

Every defensive player in the league would love to be able to guess the snap count without any ramifications from guessing incorrectly and jumping offsides. The fact is, in the NFL you can't give teams 5 yards because you have no discipline.

You are so wise ..... you are right, we have no reason to celebrate a win against Kansas City

The rest of you people should follow bbguns advice and continue to badmouth this team.

Thats what real fans do.

And we're a 2 point, last second loss worse than the best team in football.

I guess there's not much separation from the best and worst.

Or maybe this is just an incredibly stupid way to judge teams.

DeMarcus Ware is not disciplined? that's one of the dumbest things I've ever heard.

Exactly

We're better than the awful teams and worse than the good teams. Know what that means? We're a horribly average team, which wouldnt be so maddening if we didnt have 10+ Pro-Bowl caliber players.

How can you not see the Cowboys going downhill? Nobody loves the Cowboys more than me, but can you honestly say you feel good about them right now? I was so pissed off during the game today because the Cowboys have the talent to dominate, but their lack of execution and passion makes them an average team.

Their execution has been terrible. Four defensive offsides penalties on one drive? Missed tackle after missed tackle?

An offense that has become so vanilla that you can just see the defense creeping up to put 8 in the box. Repeated fumbles by Crayton. Missed field goals. Repeated punts, not fielded, one by Newman put the ball on the one yard line. Just terrible play. Do you see the players catching hell on the sidelines or getting yanked after making repeated mistakes?

Do you see them improving from the first game or getting worse? You can say they've lost some guys to injury, but what team hasn't? This team does not get the leadership it needs from its Owner/GM or it's "head coach". There is zero accountability and that's just a shame. This team will continue to make the same mistakes because the head coach doesn't have the balls to make the necessary changes.

If Jerrah is ok with this type of team, then I hate to say it, but the Cowboys are destined for mediocrity.

It wasn't pretty, but at least we got the win. Things could be a lot worse; we could have actually lost today (How would like to be 2-3 getting owned by the Chiefs? The media would be having a field day). This game had last year's Rams written all over it from the beginning, but fiinally it was our team that made the plays when they count the most. In this league, that's all you really need. The Giants and Steelers built their championships around that concept.

Are there holes in this team? Of course there are. I want Wade gone; If it was up to me, I would fire him despite our victory for the lack of preparation and team discipline. I don't think Garrett is utilizing the teams talent and skills in the appropriate way.

But again we got the victory and we have some solid things to build from:

  • We have 3 very, very good RB's with 2 of them having some time to heal.
  • Our defense is playing solid football overall.
  • Austin breaking records in his first ever start and possibly cementing his role in the offense.
  • Romo learning to manage the game and not forcing mistakes.

We are not there yet, but today's last second victory could be what we needed to energize this team and bring about the central theme of doing whatever is necessary to win the game. Gotta be happy about that.

I hesitate to add to the stupidity of this conversation, but if we're 2 points worse than the best and 6 points better than the worst, that puts us at above average (i.e., average would be 4 points worse than best and 4 points better than the worst).

Like I said, I hate to add to the stupidity of this conversation.

Keith Brooking has quickly become one of my favorite players. Its a shame he isn't 5 years younger because he's the type of leader this team has been lacking for quite some time.

No, sometimes he isn't disciplined. And when you multiply that times 11, you have an extremely undisciplined defense. Am I saying he isn't good? No. He's clearly our best defensive player, but jumping offsides is undisciplined, period.

Missed tackles and penalties make our defense a below average defense.

I hope his passion rubs off on his teammates. He goes all out on each and every play.

We're frustratingly inconsistent and unlucky. The offense has the potential to be the best in the league. The defense shows prolonged flashes, but ultimately is a major let down when it counts.

We can beat the best handily and lose to the worst in a disgusting manner.

I think we end up righting the ship and going 11-5.
